Lugar de Esperanza

Chapter 3

It's eight-thirty in the morning and we're in the middle of the wide garden filled with daisies. Doctor Steiner is in front of us now. Smiling widely, ready to start his speech for this session.

"It's a blissful morning to everyone! how was your sleep?" he asked in a light way, still plastering his smile. "I bet some of you... or I should say most of you here are still confused about everything,"

Nanatiling tahimik ang lahat at nakikinig lang sa kanya. Hindi ko lamang makita ang reaksyon ng ilan dahil sa harap ako nakatayo dahil na rin kay Nathana na hinila kami ni Lucie rito. Yes, I was shocked that Nathana is okay now and I guessed Lucie's okay too. Hindi ko na lamang binigyan pa ng pansin at nagpaubaya na lamang sa kanila.

"When everything fades away, we, human are slowly losing our capacity in life. It's actually a vague feelings, right?" the Doctor continued before he turn his gaze to Brett, and the latter just nod before taking his place in front and automatically I averted my gaze from him.

Last night, I immediately go to bed after our deep talked and tried to sleep but his words were haunting me kaya umaga na nang makatulog ako.

"Good morning," he started. "We start drowning when everything is slowly fading. Nadadala tayo sa bugso ng ating damdamin na hindi natin alam na pupwede pala ang lumaban." He then stated that caused me to look at him again.

"But yes, the question will surely come up—paano tayo lalaban kung ang lahat ng bagay na nagiging suporta natin ay dahan-dahan nang napapawi? it's really hard to explain, right? actually, it's hard to choose—whether you fight or give up, they both have challenges and consequences.

If ever you choose to fight, you also need to be strong enough to fight everything. Kahit na dahan-dahang gumuguho ang nasa paligid mo ay lalaban ka pa rin at itutuloy ang nasimulang desisyon. While if you choose to give up and let yourself drown in the ocean of your sick thoughts ay kailangan mong labanan ang kahihinatnan nito. Though, you will be free but not totally free because at the end, you will still suffer knowing that your love ones are in grief... I hope you know what I mean,"

Nanatiling tahimik ang lahat at nasa sa kanya lamang ang buong atensyon. I'm not sure if he did conviced everyone but one thing is for sure, his words are so powerful na imposibleng hindi sasang-ayunan ng kahit na isa rito.

Narinig ko ang marahang tawa ng kanyang ama kaya agad na lumipat ang tingin ko rito. He's walking towards Brett and when he is already beside him, he tap his son's left shoulder while nodding and he mouthed something to him that I didn't understand.

I suddenly think about my Dad, actually my whole family. I am not sure if they are looking for me right now, kung nabulabog na ba ang bahay dahil nawawala ako dalawang araw na ngayon. But I am sure that my boss is. Sigurado ako na kahapon pa nila ako pinaghahanap dahil may assigned presentation ako tungkol sa isang brand na il-launch ng kompanya. But I am so down that even my own presentation is not prepared. Actually, I have nothing to present. And I guessed going here is a way better than presenting in front of people na walang ibang ginawa kundi ang ipakita ang kanilang pagkadismaya sa akin sa lahat ng aspeto.

"Today our session is just simple and easy but an amazing game." Doctor Steiner said and chuckled. Brett is beside him who's also smiling to everybody. "But before that, we will have a little introduction about the place and I would be glad if my son will do the honor,"

Napansin ko ang pagkabigla ni Brett na agad niyang itinago sa likod ng kanyang mga labi nang ngumiti siya. Saglit siyang lumingon sa kanyang ama bago bumuntong hininga nang tumango at ngumiti lamang ito sa kanya.

"San Fernando is the name of the place and it consists of three buildings with different names" he stated as he swallow hard. "Lugar de Esperanza is the name of our building, the building for youth and the two are Lugar de Paz which is the building for children and The Euda o Lugar de Felicidad is for adults."
