"Why, Hello, Harry."
I took my usual seat as the trio stopped their conversation in their tracks.
"Well, don't stop on my account," I respond with a grin.
"How are you feeling today," Hermione questions.
"Perfectly splendid. To be quite honest, I've never felt better."
I tracked their faces as it only becomes more clear that they seemed confused with my appearance.
"Draco didn't seem to like what I wore yesterday, so I decided to dress more professionally," I express sarcastically.
I don't know what my old self was thinking about her clothing choices. But, I guess it isn't my fault since everything came from my father. Though, I don't think she knew that previously.
"So, tell me, Harry, how has your little secret rebellious group been going. If you'd like, I would happily lend a hand in teaching."
"How did you even know about that," Harry replies shakingly.
"Well, I know about a lot of things, Harry," I state, looking him up and down.
Ever since my father enlightened me of my potential and relieved me of my emotions, I have found that life has become quite simple. I dress how I want, I act how I would like, and in the end, I have limitless power. But, I do still have one issue. From time to time, my weakness, or shall I say, my old self, likes to peek through. Oh, what a mess she is, a pathetic one to be quite honest.
"This conversation is boring me," I frown sarcastically.
"Harry, have a good day," I wink, leaving him stunned.
Walking out, I could feel hungry eyes watching my every move. If only some of these fools could grow a couple of brain cells, they may become suitable candidates to occupy my time. Well, what am I dwelling on? It's not like that would ever happen.
I giggle to myself, entering my room to collect the textbooks for my first class.
"Well, if it isn't the Draco Malfoy," I announce as I could feel his presence behind me.
"Looking for something?"
Observing my every move, he replies cautiously.
"What is going on with you, your not acting like yourself."
I pause for a second, "I don't know about you Malfoy, but I feel perfectly fine."
His face twists, frustrated by my response as I place my books neatly on my bed. I turn, walking toward him. He appeared intimidated and possibly the slightest bit flustered. I step toward him, less than an inch away from his ear.
"Why so tense, Malfoy?"
I snicker to myself, pulling back toward my textbooks.
With my back toward him, I continued speaking.
"I've got you down to a science Malfoy, and if you think you know something, you don't."
I could feel his presence cutting through the still air. At my ear, he spoke for the first time.
"As I've mentioned before y/n, two can play this game," he smirks as his breath lightly touches my skin.
"You know Malfoy, my father would be quite interested in you."
"Oh really, how so," he questions, lightly pulling my hair behind my ear.
"I just know."
Simultaneously as I answered, I could feel a wand pressed against my neck.
"I see how it is," I sign.
I turn, meeting his cautious eyes once again.
"Who are you," He asks sternly.
"Don't be silly, Mal...," I peer down to see Cedric's wand pointed at me.
My weakness suddenly overcoming me, I gasp.
"Draco," I yelp.
I tried speaking further to explain myself, but all I could do was move my hand. With my last fighting breath, I dropped to my knees, grabbing a notebook hidden under my bed. I tossed it in his direction before succumbing to this overpowering force.
I watched helplessly as he grabs the book, placing it under his robes.
"So it seems that my weakness is more powerful than I expected," I stand, brushing off my knees.
"Now, I believe you have something that belongs to me," I place a hand out in his direction.
"No," he replies blandly.
"Stupify," he yells, rendering my body useless.
I watched as he lept out the room as a tear streamed down my face.
My whole mind has been compromised by these pathetic triggers.
Like my father warned, love, is the one thing that conquers any compulsion.
