Draco's Pov
"So, is y/n single cause she's looking quite good right about now," Blaise states with a smirk etched on his face.
Crabe and Goyle chuckle to themselves.
"Shut it," I reply grumpily.
Her name doesn't even deserve to be spoken from their vile mouths.
I glared down at my food, trying not to overreact.
"Looks like someone fancies her init mate," Blaise remakes, pushing my shoulder.
I could feel my face burning with anger as this pathetic waste of space waiting for some cheeky answer.
But, before I could even answer, a distraught Weaselbee rushes toward Harry. Whispering something in his ear, both of them ran out as though something was very wrong. Not wanting to participate in this discussion anymore, I got up, lurking behind the boys to see what was going on.
I could hear Weaselbee shaky voice mention y/n's name. My eyes widen, trying to comprehend everything going on behind the closed doors. Suddenly, Harry appears out of the Gryffindor common room carrying y/n. She was passed out, with an impressive burn on her left arm. My heart raced as I ran toward all of them.
"What happened?"
"There's no time to discuss this right now," Harry yelled back.
I followed behind them as he carried her to the hospital wing once again.
I pushed the hair out her face as they stood there silently, looking at one another.
"So who is going to tell me what happened," my teeth clenched.
Hermione spoke, "Well, we got into an argument, and I left the room. Ron found her with her hand in the fire, that's all."
"Why would she do such a thing," I respond sharply.
"We don't know."
Why does she keep getting hurt when I'm not there.
I could feel the anger welling in me as I left the room. If I'm honest, I do not have the mental capabilities to watch her hurt again. I stumbled over to the astronomy tower, finally taking a deep breath.
The next thing I know, I hear a freaked out Hermione babbling on about y/n waking up, talking to nothing. I sped down the halls to her room where she was looking dreadful. I grabbed a clean rag trying to help her the best that I could. No one else seemed to be even slightly capable of tending to y/n, so I sat with her myself. The next day rolled around quicker than I expected. Seemingly so quick, that I completely missed her leaving the room. I woke up to an empty bed.
I lept down the hall and into the dining hall, expecting to see her eating breakfast, but she wasn't there. I stormed over to the trio, asking for y/n. They looked at me confused, not knowing that she was out of the hospital already.
I turned to leave just as she was making her grand entrance. She practically strutted into the hall, wearing the most over revealing uniform. She must have sized down all of her clothing as everything was out in the open for everyone to see. I ran over to her, pulling off my sweater and tossing it on her.
"What in the bloody hell are you doing, "I whispered in her ear.
"Why hello Malfoy," she responds confidently.
She winked at me before making her way to her usual spot at the Gryffindor table. I watched her, astonished at the complete change from the last state I saw her in.
I thought everything was going back to normal, and then, just like that, the exact opposite happens.
For the rest of the day, I observed her peculiar behavior. She acted like a whole different person, flirted with everyone, and what with the winking.
Something happened to her, but I don't know how to approach this situation.
After an exhausting day of watching her recklessness, I made my way back to my room. Walking down the empty halls, I could hear fast footsteps coming from behind.
I twist my body around to see a distraught y/n bolting toward my direction. She wrapped her arms around me, squeezing me tightly.
"Help me," she murmured, looking up at me with tear-filled eyes.
I looked down, cupping her face as I try to comprehend her worried eyes. In a flash, all of it disappeared. Her face grew blank as she pulled away from my arms. Wiping her tears away, an evil smirk appeared on her face.
"What is going on," I ask with a look of shock on my face.
"Oh, it's nothing," she responds with a grin.
"Goodnight, Malfoy."
She turns, leaving me alone once again in the halls.
What just happened?
Now I know for sure there's something wrong with her. This is the second time she has called me Malfoy.
Everyone calls me that.
But that's beside the point. When I peered into her eyes, it was almost as if a light was blown out of them.
Where did the peculiar girl go?
