Today's the day.

The final competition.

My eyes jolt open as the stack of bound papers tower over my face. I've possibly gone through ten different notebooks of vigorous planning by now. Harry sometimes gives me weird looks as it seems each week, a new book is in my hands. At this point, I have come up with a hundred different ways to save Cedric.

I have dreaded this day for a long time. If only I could see into the future to know how everything plays out.

Here we go.

I sat up in my bed as I pulled the first notebook from the top of my pile. My eyes, drifting through every page as I strategize my final plan.

-1:00pm-

I dart down the stairs, looking for the only boy with glasses. Every room was empty, not a single soul in sight. I made my way down to the great hall, remembering lunch was now being served. I run in, trying not to waste any time.

Peering over, Draco quickly made his way in my direction.

"Y/n, where have you been," he whispers in my ear.

I look at his, not so cold gray eyes. He seemed concerned as though he did something wrong. I squeeze his hand lightly.

"I'm sorry, I've been busy planning for you know what."

A sign of relief came over his face, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that," he stumbles.

"Well, I'll let you go on about your business," he gulps, looking down at his feet.

I rush over to Harry, grabbing his collar, pulling him out of the main hall.

"Ouch, y/n what is it with the bloody hell," Harry yelps.

"Shut it, you were supposed to meet me an hour ago to discuss the plan for today," I bark back at him.

"Oh...sorry about that," he rubs the back of his head.

After saying the password, I led him to all my messy notebooks sprawled out.

"Wow, you have really outdone yourself."

"It all in a day's work, now sit," I demand.

He listens quietly as I explain every move we will make in the maze. He nods silently, trying to comprehend every detail I have spewed in his direction.

Five o'clock rolls around, signaling the start of the final task.

The objective of this final round is by far the most complex of competitions. We will all go through the maze to find the Triwizard cup. But be warned, the mazes are full of magic, leading to much uncertainty in finding the correct direction to follow.

"If you need help, shoot up a red spark, and we will come to your assistance," Dumbledor announces.

Harry and I stood there, standing side by side at the entrance of the maze, ready to carry out my hard work. I look over to see a worried Draco in the stands. Though he stared silently in my direction, I could tell he was on edge. I then directed my attention over to Cedric.

"Good luck and be careful, Cedric," I flare a weak smile.

"You too, I don't want to drag your heavy body back," he responds in a joking tone.

I flash him a fake smile.

"Remember what I told you during our first conversation," I respond.

"I'll be waiting to see that smile of yours once we're done here."

"I remember y/n," he replies.

"And don't you forget what I said, my jumper will be waiting for you," he winks.

"Alright then, see you on the other side," I reply more confidently.

He flashes a smile.

Then, just like that, we began. Harry grabs my hand as we both make our way down the long walls of greenery. I let Harry take the lead, knowing that his decisions will lead us toward Cedric. As we crept further into the maze, the more on edge I felt. The combination of the foggy arena and deafening silence created unbearable tension.

As expected, we both hear a scream. We ran toward the sound when Victor Krum appeared out of thin air. His wand raised at us, pausing, he glares momentarily, before leaving. We ran the way he came from, finding Fleur, her body, dragged into the thick vines. I wave my wand in the air, signaling for help. I pulled on Harry's arm as we must continue.

"She'll be ok," I reassure him.

Reluctantly, he pulls away. We continue until I spot an exhausted Cedric sending spells towards a possessed Victor Krum.

"Stupify," I scream, leaving him defenseless on the ground.

"Thanks," Cedric replies with his hands on his knees, gasping for air.

"We must go now," I shout, pulling Harry as a rush of wind billows in our direction.

We begin to sprint as Cedric follows closely behind. I peer behind me to check on him when suddenly the bushes began closing in. Just barely clipping at Cedric's heels, we all leaped for safety, making it into a clearing. I looked up with relief in my eyes as a glowing cup lay silently. We all paused for a second.

The vines never came to attack Cedric, I thought to myself.

Let's hope that's the only thing out of place.

Wishful thinking is all it was.

Harry and I exchanged nervous glances, "Ready, Harry?"

He nods slowly.

"On three, grab the cup, and us two will deal with what comes next," I say out of breath.

"One, two, three...Cedric, don't."

Suddenly we all three of us appear in the dreadful cemetery.

"Cedric," I yelled.

"You weren't supposed to touch the cup," a mixture of worry and frustration plastered over my face.

"I wasn't going to let you win so easy," he replies swiftly.

"Cedric, this is no time for jokes," I mutter.

Suddenly Harry collapses to the ground, gripping his scar.

Wait, this is happening too fast.
