Trapped In Lace

One

I have had a massive, and I mean massive makeover.

I've had to say goodbye to my dark brown hair which I love. And I'm now saying hello to a blonde hair. Don't worry it's a wig. Which I also love if I'm being honest.

I have had my natural hair cut as well, it used to be down to my lower back but now it's up to my shoulders and I have a new fashion style.

A whole new wardrobe of jeans and joggers. Which is usually wear to sleep, obviously not the jeans but apparently people just wear joggers all the time. I mean it's comfortable so why not.

I'm just glad I don't have to wear all of my dresses and heals all the time.

We landed in America early this morning and I already hate it here.

The sun is.... is the sun... it's fucking boiling.

I'm melting, I'm sweating. I'm used to 5 degrees, not 30.

This is what's going to kill me.

"Lily are you ready?" Luca asks me and i nod

"I guess" I shrug

"Come on, cheer up. You get to stay with me, I can make pizza any time you want" he says

"I guess that's a bonus" i say and he nods with a smile

"Plus my daughter is the same age as you are, I bet she's glad she has another girl her age in the house" he says

"How many kids do you have?" I ask him

"Six" he says and my jaw falls open

"Six" i say and he nods

"Would have been seven" he says with a sad smile and my heart hurts for him, I can't imagine what it's like.

"You ready?" My mum asks and I nod

"I'll see you this weekend" my dad says hugging me

"Whats this weekend?" I ask

"We're having a family meal with Lucas family, all the workers will bring their families and it's just a nice way of everyone getting to know each other" my mum says

"Oh right" i say with a nod

"Your going to do great" Emma says

"Of course she is, she's gonna Hannah Montana the shit out of all of them" Leo says and i laugh hugging them

"Where's Lizzie?" I ask

"She fell alseep, you know how she gets if we wake her up. I don't feel like dying today" Leo says

"Well tell her that I'll see her soon" I say and they nod

"God I'm going to miss you so much" Mum says

"I'll miss you too" i say with a smile

"Now be good for Luca and his family" my dad says

"I am good, I'm an angel aren't i Luca?" I ask and he chuckles

"Of course you are" he says and i smile

"See?" I say and my parents smile at me

"So Luca?" I ask sitting in his car as we drive to his house

"Yes?" He asks

"What's better as a fake name" i say, "Ava Clark, Ruby King or Ella Scott?"

"The last one" he says

"Are you sure?" I say and he laughs

"Definitely"

"Okay, now I need your advice" i say

"Oh god" he mumbles

"You see, I'm meant to be getting married next year. Yes I know it's awful" I say and he laughs

"What makes a marriage work? And how can I prepare myself for the absolute worst when I do marry him?" I ask

"Trust, respect, just the basic human rights really. I know it's difficult, trust me but sometimes arranged marriages can work. I mean it worked with me and my wife Thea" he says

"Ah yes, the Greek and the Italian. God I bet your kids look like gods" i say and he laughs

"I'm being serious, like you just have some great genes. Whilst I'm stuck here with my pasty white skin that burns at any chance it gets" I say

"You get that off your father" he says

"How did you and dad meet?" I ask

"It was at a ball actually, we both got carried away with the drinks and your grandmother chucked us out of her palace" Luca says and i laugh

"Of course" i say with a smile

"So, I've got your school equipment sorted. You start on Monday... Ella" he says

"Why do I have to do this Luca? Tutoring was hell enough and now I have to deal with Americans. Do you know how annoying they are? I don't know why you live here" i say

"It's a new start for you, take this as an opportunity to have people treat you like your not royalty. I wish I had this opportunity when I was your age, so just take it in your stride. I'm not asking you to be well behaved and follow every rule. If you want to rebel a bit do it, you've been under a tight leash for all of your life. Use this time to take some risks and have some fun" he tells me and i nod

"They think your an exchange student that's why your living with us by the way" he adds on

"How far away are we from your house?" I ask him

"We're here now" he says taking a left and he drives down a large estate of big houses. Not too big that it's over powering, but enough for his family to live in.
