"What's up?" Mic questioned as the trio walked up to his desk.
"I finished the song." Bakugo replied with a shrug. "Can we rehearse it down the hall and perform it for you?"
"Go for it." Mic said with a shrug as he handed of the keys to the trio. "I'll be down in five. It doesn't have to be perfect since it's a first run through, but at least get it going." He stated as the three turned to exit the room.
"I hope it doesn't have to be perfect." Kaminari muttered as they stepped into the hallways.
"Especially if he is only giving us enough time for one run through." Kirishima added.
"It's not your song or grade anyway. I'll end up recording every part and merging it all together later, this is just so he knows the progress." Bakugo spat as he violently shoved the key into the 'performance' room. It was a small soundproof room with several instruments lying around here and there. The red head quickly found his way to the drums as Kaminari picked from the many guitars on the wall. Bakugo found two music stands before setting one in front of each of them.
"Just sight read it." The blonde ordered as he stepped back.
"You singing?" Kirishima questioned as he adjusted his stand to meet his height.
"Not yet." The blonde replied before giving them a countdown. He pointed to Kaminari, who started playing immediately. Those two might be idiots, but they could sure play, Bakugo himself couldn't deny that. As soon as Kirishima joined in, the song picked up in speed.
"Don't speed it up shitty hair!" Bakugo yelled through the music. The red head nodded as he slowed back down to the appropriate speed. Bakugo listened carefully as they continued to play the song. He was pretty impressed by how well their sight reading was, but they were UA students, so it was natural they were good. Bakugo sang the song in his head as they continued to play it through. When they were done, they looked to him for approval. The blonde didn't say anything as he walked to the guitarist. He glanced over the sheet music before pointing to the 32nd measure.
"You messed up the second chord here, other than that, good job idiots." He complimented as he walked back towards the front of the room.
"Your five minutes are up!" Mic yelled loudly as he barged into the room, causing Kirishima to drop a drumstick in surprise.
"Stop doing that!" Kaminari whined loudly as Mic strutted across the room.
"Let's get this done!" Mic shouted with excitement. It was a common fact that Bakugo was the top music student, so any of the teachers were always glad to hear his songs. Mic however, knew that the blonde was struggling with songs that his image would fit and songs that his heart would fit.
Everyone took a deep breath before Bakugo gave Kaminari a small nod, telling him to start when he was ready. As soon as the music started, a certain green haired, freckled mam made his way into the blondes mind once again.
As soon as the lyrics left the blondes mouth, anybody could tell this song was for someone. He sang with a sense of joy he had never sang with before. He wrote amazing songs with amazing lyrics, but they usually felt bland to the people who truly knew him. He had a smirk plastered on his face the entire time that he was singing as his mind stayed on one person. When the song had come to an end, Kaminari was smiling while Kirishima glanced to Bakugo nervously. The blonde hardly showed emotions, even through his songs.
"Kaminari, Kirishima, you can leave." Mic said in a monotone voice as he opened the door. Kaminari and Kirishima quietly walked out the door wishing luck to the blonde as they had passed him.
"So?" Bakugo questioned as Mic shut the door behind his students.
"So what?" His teacher replied with a smirk as he turned to face his top student.
"What did you think?" He questioned as he stared at Mic, anxious for a reply. "I know it isn't what I usually write, but-"
"It's because it isn't what you usually write that I liked it." Mic said with a sigh. Bakugo couldn't help but let out a relieved sigh. He truly thought his idol wouldn't like it. "You weren't just yelling words at a random group of people this time. You were specifically using your voice to get a message across."
I got my message across that I want to makeout with Deku? Bakugo spat to himself inside of his head. He swore up and and down that Mic didn't make sense half of the time.
"What I am trying to say is that you wrote a song that you actually wanted to write. You didn't just throw words together that sounded good. You enjoyed singing that song!" Mic explained when he saw the confused look that he had received from his student. "That's what music is all about really." Mic stated with a small smile as he walked towards his student. "If you aren't performing with a passion and a like for that song, are you even performing?" He questioned as he roughly patted his student on the back. "Great job."
"Thank you." Bakugo muttered as he looked to the ground. Of course he loved music, but he never loved performing a song more than that one.
"Class should be ending soon." Mic stated as he began walking towards the door. "You should get your stuff and get going. Don't forget to grab your touring papers." The teacher said before leaving the room. The blonde didn't have time to get lost in his thoughts as the bell rang. He quickly moved through the room into the crowded hallway.
"How did it go?" Kirishima questioned as he held out Bakugo's bag as soon as the blonde stepped into the hall.
"It's me, how do you think it went idiot?" Bakugo scoffed.
"So he liked it?" Kaminari questioned in confusion as they began walking down the hallway towards the front doors.
"Of course he liked it idiot!" Bakugo spat back as he eyes landed on a certain green haired man that was walking a few feet in front of them. Bakugo could tell by the way Midoriya was walking that he was having another hard day. He wanted to talk to him about it, but he knew he would be overstepping his boundaries. That wasn't part of their deal and it killed the fiery blonde on the inside more and more everyday.
