"Is ... everything ok?" A deep voice quietly and cautiously filled the fox den. Despite the lack of volume, the clarity of the voice was resonant and heard by everyone.

"Scarface!" she exclaimed happily.

Her demon bodyguard stood hesitantly at the entrance of the fox den. He was about to ask her if she was ok but seeing that she was in Dong Hua's arms, he realized his question was already answered. He noticed that the usually elegant and refined almighty god was covered in splotches of chicken wing sauce and grease.

"Dear boy if you are here for some chicken wings I'm afraid we're all out," said the Fox Emperor. "My granddaughter's mate" he pointed to Dong Hua, "has cleared us all out. If anyone doesn't believe in karma, tell them to come talk to me. No doubt this is what our Xiao Jiu's appetite did to Tai Chen Palace and now he's just giving it back to us two-fold," he said with hearty laughter.

Feng Jiu was glad to see her grandfather being nice to her new bodyguard and even joking about her mate. She poked Dong Hua in the chest and smiled excitedly. He nodded back at her. She was effusive and with her up against his body, it only made him even more sensitive to each and every thing that made her happy. She watched Scarface interact with her family and Dong Hua watched her with even more fascination.

"It's just that I heard loud destructive noises and vicious growling coming from the fox den. For a moment I had flashbacks and didn't know if I was still in the Demon Realm," Scarface deadpanned.

She tried to stifle her giggles. All of her uncles had helped her mother escort Bai Yi back to his quarters to rest after Zhe Yan gave him an intestinal visceral massage and concocted a sedative and digestive aid for him. Everyone that was still in the communal living area just stared at the demon.

The Fox Emperor began laughing uncontrollably. Everyone else began laughing just looking at the cracked table, strewn bones, pieces of meat and saucy stains. There was nothing royal about the scene around them. It looked like the crime scene of a chicken wing massacre.

She started bouncing on her tiptoes in his arms.

"I think my family will be okay with him," she whispered to Dong Hua. He began gently kneading his long fingers into the soft sides above her hips. He nodded. "He'll fit in just fine. I wouldn't allow him to serve you if I thought he wouldn't," he whispered back.

She looked back at him and there was something about his face and his white hair that made her feel he was glowing. She felt she was basking under the moonlight.

"Dijun, you've soiled my robe. I think your grease and sauce are seeping through and even my ... undergarments are wet. What are you going to do about it?" She batted her eyelashes in a way that rendered him both helpless and sensually provoked.

He simply stared back down at her sweet face and was tempted to answer her physically but he remembered her family was still around.

"Oh don't worry Your Highness, I'll make the stains go away for you," said Zhong Lin trying to be helpful. He walked over and with a wave of his hand he removed the stains from their robes.

With a stone face, Dong Hua internally rolled his eyes.

She furrowed her brows in frustration. Those stains were supposed to be her ticket for her librarian and her to go back to their rooms to supposedly change their clothes.
