"Aaliyah!Didn't I just tell you not to bother Daddy?He's tired."I watched Jas walk into the room and pick her up
"No- don't leave.Come here."I told her
She slightly smiled and the two of them got into bed with me.
"Daddy you wake?"Aaliyah asked me
"Yeah I'm awake baby."I kissed her head
I looked over at Jasmine.
"What?"She asked
"Where's your ring?"I asked
"I-..I don't have one.What do you mean?"She asked
She doesn't have one?
"What do you mean you don't have one?"I asked her
She furrowed her brows.
"Are you okay?You never..you don't want to get married."She said
"I do."I told her
She shook her head at me and turned her attention to Aaliyah.
"Jas-
"Don't say stuff like that."She cut me off
"Stuff like what?That I want to marry you?"I asked
"You're lying.Don't tell me stuff like that.Don't get my hopes up.Okay?"She said
"Mommy bad word!"
"Im sorry baby.Daddy told a fib."She kissed our baby's cheek
"No no daddy!"She told me
"I didn't tell a..fib."I said
"Can we just drop it?"She glared at me
I sighed."Fine."
"How about we go get ready to see Grandma Sandy?"She asked Aaliyah
"Ma Sandy!"Aaliyah smiled
"Mhm.C'mon baby."Jas picked her up and walked out of our room
I sat there for a few moments.
I know this isn't real.She isn't with me.I wanted to hold onto this as long as I could though.Because when I wake up I'll be alone.
I got up and went into the bathroom to freshen up and then walked out of the bedroom.
This house is..different.

Smaller.Cozy.It felt like a home.
"What happened to the Toronto house?"I asked her
She furrowed her brows.
"You still have it.We just decided it was too big and too expensive to raise a family there.You don't remember?"She asked me
"Oh yeah I do now."I nodded and looked around
"Are you okay Aub?"She asked me
Aub.
It's been so long since she's called me that.
"Yeah yeah Im fine.I just forgot."I told her
"Uh okay."She said
"Are you hungry?I can make you some breakfast."She said while putting clothes on Aaliyah
"Nah Im okay."I kissed her head
I looked on the nursery wall and saw a frame on the wall.It was full of IVF needles and on the front was an ultrasound with "Worth the Wait" on the bottom.
I looked to Jas.I couldn't tell if she was happy.She was happy to have the baby but I couldn't tell if I made her happy.I don't know why I hadn't married her yet.
I watched her sigh and put Aaliyah down.
"Okay?All done."She said
"Mhm."Liyah nodded
"Jas.Can I talk to you?"I asked her
She nodded and we went into our bedroom as she got dressed.
"Are you happy with me?"I asked her
"Yes."She nodded
"Are you sure?"I asked her
"..yeah."She said
She paused her movement.
"I wish..that you were here more and you spent more time with us but..you know that's just how it is."She said
"You don't seem happy.Tell me what's wrong."I told her
"I don't want to keep having the same arguments.I chose to be with you.I knew what that came with.So I am fine.Happy.Wonderful.All of that."She said
"What came with being with me?"I asked her
She stared at me.
"Never getting married..not seeing you much.And lately you haven't been coming home at night...because your working and that's fine but Aaliyah is a lot and I need help."She ranted
I stared at her."Im sorry."
She shook her head."It's alright."

I woke up and looked around.She was gone. Again.
