Lisa was the first to place her items down, and by items I mean the entire shelf of cereal and the rest she called from the storage
"Jesus" the cashier muttered under her breath
"Yeah, it's some Mr Beast shit in here" Jamie laughed
"Who said I was paying?" Autumn said sternly
Ethan and Jamie's eyes flung wide open as the panic inside them started to become visible through the red veins in their eyes. Kate chuckled to herself, knowing she had seen the 'serious face' Autumn was pulling before
"i- but- wha-"
"Better take it all back" Autumn shrugged
"Wait what!"
"Go on, scoot scoot" Autumn waved her hands away for the two teens to leave
"I- I can't believe it" Ethan pouted, gripping the carts to turn on its wheel
"Bye bye cookies" Jamie sniffled
"Bye bye gum drops" Ethan mumbled as he started to take steps towards the isles back again
"Jesus, I was joking" Autumn chuckled
It didn't even take a second before a bitch snapped his whole body around with the cart and run his fine ass back to the check out, pushing through the customers that were heading to his direction
"Excuse me hoe. OUT OF THE WAY, DADDY GOTTA PAY FOR MY SHIT" The boy hissed at the customers
"Oh god" Autumn rubbed her temples
"Love you, sugar daddy" Ethan smirked as he quickly placed all of the items from the cart onto the tray, making sure to move fast so Autumn didn't change her mind again
"Friends, gotta love em" Kate chuckled
Autumn smiled as she slipped her card out from her pocket and handed it to the elderly woman at the checkout who seemed already overwhelmed by the groceries she had to bag in front of her. Autumn chuckled and placed a few hundred dollar bills down for the woman's tip
"Wha- no I can't accept thi-"
"Shh, don't worry about it. Thank you for putting up with us" Autumn chuckled as she grabbed the bags with Lisa
"Ready to go?" the raven hair girl asked as she turned to face the teenagers
To her surprise, the teens were standing there with their mouths wide open and a blank stare in their eyes. Autumn shrugged and continued walking towards the exit with her sister, leaving the three dumbfounded friends standing there
"That's more than my rent" Ethan said
"That's more than I make in a year" Jamie mumbled
"Damn" Kate chuckled, shaking her head to come back to her senses
"Come on let's go"
"When are you going to marry that girl?" Ethan questioned, grabbing the rest of bags
"What?" Kate questioned
"Oh come on Kate, there's something you're not telling us. And honestly, it's okay if you two are dating. We're just confused why didn't you say it first, I mean.. We're your best friends" Jamie mumbled, heading towards the exit
"We're not dating" Kate stated
Ethan and Jamie stopped dead in their tracks and glanced to face each other. It took a second for the words to register into their brains but when it did, their laughters came right after, bursting like water flowing from the falls
"I'm serious guys" Kate groaned at her laughing friends
"No. There's no way you're not dating Autumn" Ethan chuckled
"We're not"
"Wait. Really?" Jamie asked
"That's what I've been saying this whole time" Kate rolled her eyes
"What the fuck Kate" Ethan spat
"Why the fuck haven't you made a move yet" Jamie yelled
"Wha- our deal-"
"You're letting a fucking deal come between your dating life!?"
"I don't even know if she likes me!"
"SHE LIKES YOU" The two teenagers screamed in union
"Shhhh, keep your voices down she's right there" Kate hissed
"Kate. Get yourself together, everyone can see the way you two feel about each other. Everyone except the two of you. One of you needs to make the move and it has to be done now" Ethan yelled
"I have time"
"It's better to start your happiness now than wait. And she clearly makes you happy. I haven't seen you smile like that when you're around us. And I haven't seen you smile like that since your 11th birthday" Ethan yelled
"Oh for God sakes Kate. Go for it. It's not like you two haven't done anything before. There's so much chemistry and tension between you two. Hell, she's staring at you right now" Jamie said as she nodded behind them
Kate spun on her heels to see the raven hair girl leaving against the car with a wide smile while Lisa stuff her face with cereal then be yelled at by Autumn for filling herself on sugar at 1am. Kate's smile soon followed onto her own face just looking at the two Hesters
She knew there was something there. A spark between her and Autumn that neither of them seemed to talk about, maybe they were too afraid to admit it or maybe they weren't sure how it started. Maybe they were both afraid of what would follow if they actually did take that step. Or maybe they didn't know how to even approach each other on their own feelings
Things were going so good. Maybe neither of them wanted to ruin that by expressing what was inside and being rejected. Maybe they were both afraid of the pain they'd face if that rejection truly did come
The fear of pain was more powerful than the desire to be happy. So they both their feelings to themselves, knowing it was growing and becoming more intense. Just because they were afraid of losing each other
But Kate knew what she wanted and that person was standing there with long black hair and icy blue eyes and a bunch of posters of herself hanging on her room wall
She wanted Autumn Hester
