"You're not insane. Well, people I meet are mostly insane." They said as someone began to step out of the shadows. A glow shortly followed, half-blinding Asriel as he turned away, shielding his eye with one of his arms. The light soon subsided, turning grey-ish as they got closer. Right in front of Asriel stood a child about 4'' 3'. They were only an assortment of grey, black, and white; their shirt was in the same pattern as Frisk's, one flat color with two stripes. Their hair was somewhat long, swinging and hanging over their shoulders. Instead of any eyes, all they had were holes in the place they're supposed to be. It was scary to think they could just stare into his soul with those piercing, pupil-less eyes. A sweat droplet trickled down his chin as he tried his best not to show he was terrified or scared. "You're tiny." Asriel blurted out, covering up his mouth in the process.

"Don't worry, Asriel. I've heard that comment many times before." They held up their hand, chuckling. "The name's Core Frisk, but you can just call me Frisk. I would really like you to just call me by my regular name..."

The end of their sentence was as if they were ticked off the fact that no one would call them Frisk. "Wait, did you say Frisk? You can't be..." Asriel wondered out loud, skeptically observing the little fellow.

"Well, let's just say there's a multiverse that I can't begin to explain." They replied, about to walk away as they motioned their hand for Asriel to follow. "So, you only get 3 questions, I'm not one for answering things."

"Wait, only three?" Asriel rubbed his head, not realizing he'd just asked his first question.

"Yes, only two now that you asked a question." They grinned, crossing their arms.

"Wait, no! I didn't mean it! Ugh, fine. What the freak is happening?" Asriel sighed and pinched the top of his nose. "Tell me, please."

Frisk just sighed, sitting down and patting the seat right next to them. "If you want to hear the whole story, then you better sit down for this."

Asriel obliged, sitting down looking directly into Frisk's eyes. They just sighed in return, looking to him with pity in his eyes. "It all started long ago, when Frisk had first fallen into the underground. Of course, you wouldn't ever think of the possibility that in their first run they'd go ahead an kill everyone, right? Well, that's not much of the case. You might just say it was all just a big accident and they were trying to protect themselves. Yet again, that's not what happened. If you'd seen them first, you should of saw the red glint in their eyes, the vindictiveness of their smile. Something had happened long ago, possibly, that made them feel this way. Carrying a knife in their hand, they'd swung it around, killing Toriel when she had saved them from you. On they went, killing the entire underground and filling it with nothing but dust. This went on until they'd reach the end of their journey.

"I heard them mumble to themselves, their eyes shadowed. 'I will show them who's boss.' 'Monsters don't deserve to live.' 'I'm doing this for the greater good.' 'Nothing is going to stop me.' They said this over and over again, walking into the last room of the now empty Underground. That's when they disappeared out from no where. I don't know what happened then, but Frisk changed once they'd reset from the beginning. They'd seem more elated yet determined to, on the contrary, free monster kind. To this day, I'm still confused on what their motive was in the first place. But you'd see, that when they reset, everything wasn't normal. The reset capability had been glitched. This is life we're talking about, you can't just...redo everything...relive moments oblivious to what they may feel."

Frisk (dramatically) paused, looking over to Asriel. "Resets were never supposed to happen. It was as if we're all apart of some game..."

"Hang on a second. What do you mean? This is all coming in so fast. What the heck is a reset?" Asriel went over his limit of question, yet Frisk still answered.

"It's exactly what it sounds like. Frisk had actually toyed with your lives. Don't act like you don't see it. Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about." They sneered. "You should know too what it's like to kill people."

That was the final straw. Everything came back with a flash. He looked through the eyes of Flowey for the first time since he'd gotten out from the Underground. Blood stained his petals; his eyes were dripping hate; the dust made the air not breathable. Asriel, his eyes wide open, looking horrified, his mouth agape. A tear found its way down his cheek from his shadowed eyes. "I...I-I didn't mean it. I didn't d-do it. I-I w-wasn't thinking straight..."

"They should just change the phrase 'Curiosity killed the cat' into 'Curiosity killed all monsters." They sneered yet again, the grin on their face permanently placed.

"W-Why are you acting like that? Who the freak do you think you are..?" He looked up again to see...nothing. All that was there was the darkness, physical and mental darkness. He curled up into a ball, rocking back and forth. "Back to insanity I guess, heh...heh..." He smiled as he tried to laugh it all off, failing as more tears rolled down his cheek.

"Don't cry, there's still hope." Someone said in the distance. Asriel looked up out of his blurred, teary eyes. Something was glowing in the darkness, sending a shock through him. And just as I was giving up hope...why did it just show now? He walked over, looking around for anyone to help him, looking for the slightest hint of a figure or face he could run to. In the end, it was useless; there was no reason for him someone there after being left alone for a long time. He looked ahead to find a screen, something so uncannily familiar to him yet so strange and like he'd never seen it before. It said RESET and CONTINUE, the glow piercing though the darkness. Why does it seem like this is not mine...what the heck is this? His hands hovered over both options as he stared. Whether he liked it or not, he had to make the choice, impacting his entire life overall. "Why does it have to be left up to me...?" He sighed, sitting on the ground and averting his eyes from the choices.

He sat there, staring at his own hands, clenching and letting go. He had all the power in the world, yet, something was not right. Why was this like this? How come the screen just appeared right there and now? What was wrong...? Asriel felt his sins crawl up his spine as he yet again grimaced at the pain of resetting. If he were to reset, no one would remember what happened, leaving him with the traumatic experience. If he were to continue, he'd have to risk a life without his lover, without the only reason for his living. Closing his eyes, he thought very carefully. Nothing would come out of any of the choices without a consequence. He sighed, putting his hand over the RESET option. "I would rather suffer this all over again then not see (Y/N) forever. I'll be meeting with you soon, my love...."

And with that, a blinding light flashed in the darkness around him. He smiled as the last tear dropped from his face.

All the memories made were vanished. Asriel, waking up in his bed, turned and looked around. He yawned despite the growing burden he had inside his heart. No one would know anything, yet he'd always doubt that idea. Someone had to have saw him, someone ought to have helped him. Even if he was back in his world, nothing was ever the same. "Asriel, breakfast." Toriel yelled from below.

"Coming." He sighed, putting on his usual clothes. "Off to another day..."
