Part 2!! Wo-ho!!!
~A Few Years Later~
Third Person's POV
It was a sunny, beautiful day in the underground. The birds were singing, the flowers were blooming; it was the perfect day to play a game of catch. That's what Chara and Asriel were doing, playing in the Judgement Hall with a baseball glove that they found, laying in a heap of garbage at the Dump. The two were turning 13 next month, though sadly, after Chara's fall, she never really did remember that much, even her own birthday; just her name is all. So, a few years back, Asriel thought that they could share a birthday; after all, they were best friends. Maybe even more than that, though, they grew closer over the years, having a liking for each other. They blushed at each other, laughed cutely at each other's stupid jokes, along with baking pie with Toriel and touching hands unexpectedly while getting ingredients. Nowadays, instead of playing with each other, they avoid each other as best as they can, sometimes how us humans react to our own crushes.
Chara panted, running as fast as she could to the edge of the large room. Sweat trickled down her face as she reached her goal. The sunshine that shown from outside blinded; she couldn't see anything. She put her head on her eyes, attempting to block out the light, failing miserably. Suddenly, something hit her head, hard, sending her tumbling backwards, out the room and falling on her butt. A pain engulfed her head as she held on like it was for dear life. She groaned and opened her eyes if just by a little bit. That's when she saw Asriel rush over, cupping his hand around her cheeks. "Chara! Oh my gosh, are you okay? I'm sorry, so sorry. I'm sorry. Please be okay. Please be okay." He whispered to himself, pulling Chara into his lap. Chara grabbed his hand and put it in hers, holding it tightly while smiling widely, reaching both ends of her rose-colored cheeks. "I'm fine, you big crybaby. See look, it doesn't hurt anymore." Chara reassured.
"Never do that again!" Asriel quickly and unintentionally hugged Chara before he could realize what he just did. Sighing, Chara hugged back, smiling while tears ran down her face and onto Asriel's stripped sweater. "Oh no, why are you crying? Are you hurt?" Asriel asked, concerned as they backed away and wiped away her tears with his one finger. Chara took his hand in hers and pulled him closer, her lips meeting his soft, white fur as she kissed him gently on the cheek to silence him. She sniffed, standing up and getting out of his lap, dusting off her clothes in the process. Meanwhile, Asriel was a blushing mess, covering his face with his sweater without success. He started to say gibberish, staring ahead as he was frozen in place. His heartbeat could be heard from a mile away, threatening to jump out of his chest and run away. His head thumped, and his palms became sweaty, turning him into a mess. There was no way to stop this as it only grew worse as time, as in a few minutes, passed. "B-b-bu-b-bu-b-bu." He stuttered.
Chara giggled a little bit, lending her hand to help Asriel off the ground. Stopping his stuttering and gibberish, he took the hand reluctantly, his blush fading but a little bit. Chara only responded with a smile, walking off into the distance to leave Asriel all alone, blushing as he was. He touched his cheek, rubbing it slightly as he sighed heavily, hearts appearing in his eyes and all around him. Chara just kissed me, he thought, my crush just kissed me. He stayed in that position for a while until the light turned orange and the sunlight finally set. His shadow darkened as the Hall was consumed in darkness. Asriel blinked once, twice, thrice, a final fourth time as he was snapped out of his trance, getting back his consciousness. Whether he was zoning out or unconscious, no one knows since you can only know when you're in love. He wiped his eyes and blinked yet again, walking towards the sounds that filled Judgement Hall. It was one of his and Chara's favorite songs, playing at the statue of the wet monster with the music box inside. Following, he soon found light, followed by laughter as he walked up the stairs. He smelt the scent of Butterscotch Cinnamon in the air and a smile appeared on his face as he realized it was an important event: Chara's Fallen Down Anniversary. "Hey, where's Asriel? He should be here by now." Toriel asked in a concerned voice, spotting Asriel's horns down from the stairs. "There you are Mister. We've been worried sick, where did you go?!"
