I looked on their faces,
as I went to the camp
I can see the terror,
I can sense the fear,
But I don't know their hunger.
Their pale faces have no hope,
their dreams lost it's colours,
and their bellies never were filled.
Their eyes were deep as the ocean,
they had a lot of tales to tell.
But the craving for food
never let them lift the pen
or even to read a word beyond
The borders were merely just fences
But beyond they see a better life
A peaceful one in the turbulent world
Love was never the more intense than hunger
The next day I saw a truck of wasted food
and on the junk of food waste
to be thrown into massive pits,
I saw their eyes glaring at me
I felt a shiver but I couldn't stop
As I don't know their hunger...
Writer's note: To all the refugees and the hungry bellies.
