His Greenie (Newt x Reader)

-I'm going back in-

You woke up in the sound of birds and the light shining down your face...you looked around and found out that you're already on your hammock...Guess, Newt carried you back and the thought of it made you feel something unusual but you shook it off and stood up

After fixing your hair and washing your face, you went out and walked towards the med jacks to visit your brother when you saw that the bed he was on was empty...You frowned and turned to Clint "Where's Thomas?" He placed the box of medicines on the table before turning to you "In the maze"

Your eyes widened in shock "What?! He just got cured and now he's back in that hell hole?!" Clint flinched slightly at your tone but answered anyway "I can't do anything about it Y/N, he insisted he'll go back and Alby and Newt agreed to it" at the mention of Newt you ran out to find him.

You looked around and finally saw him talking to Winston and You immediately ran towards him...You tapped his shoulder and he turned to you, before he could speak, you spoke "Why did you do that?" you asked firmly and it made him puzzled

"Do what?"

"Oh you know exactly what I'm talking about! How could you allow him to go back in there?"

"Look, He insisted alright? We tried all we can but he was just too stubborn"

"You should've just wake me! I could've stopped him and if not I could've-" and just like a tidal wave, it hit you and Newt knew exactly what you were thinking making him shake his head "No,no no"

Before he could grab a hold of your hand, you ran towards the homestead and grabbed everything you think you needed and bolted towards the opening...

"Stop her!" you heard Alby yell at the others and you immediately quickened the pace, You risked to turn around and saw Gally gaining up on you but you ran faster until you made it in....

"Y/N!!! Come back!" you heard everyone yell but you continued running........"Sorry!" you yelled before turning right....

You have no idea where you are and you mentally slapped yourself for being such a fool, Newt was right....It's too dangerous to wander on your own

You walked around for a while and still no sign of the two runners and it's getting dark but the problem was, You don't know how to get back

~Newt's P.O.V~

I waited at the opening...Y/N went in a few hours ago and I'm getting anxious

After a few minutes, I saw two figures and my hands started trembling, Minho and Thomas didn't see her...No,no,no,no

"Hey Newt!" Minho greeted but I grabbed his shoulders making his smile fade

"You didn't see her?!"

"What?! See who?" Minho asked

"Y/N, she went in there togo after you two and now she's in there alone and maybe even lost!"

Thomas widened  his eyes and tapped Minho's shoulder "Come on!" they turned to go back but I stopped them "I'm going with you"

"What?! You're not a runner and that's against the rules" Minho said

"Screw the rules, I'm going in" I say firmly and walked in ahead of them

You bit your lip as you tried to remember where the opening is but you've been walking for hours and you're getting hungry,tired and scared

You turned left and you immediately regret it....standing a few feet away from you is a horrible griever walking around....you bit back a gasp and took slow steps backward but you shrieked when you hit something.........or someone

"Y/N!"

You turned to see Thomas holding your arm to steady you and you were filled with relief and terror....The griever saw you and yes, Thomas

It roared and ran towards you....You stood still, your feet won't cooperate...Thomas is now tugging and desperately yelling at you to move but your eyes are glued to the incoming beast

A spear went straight to its head and you came back to your senses and flinched...."Run!" it was Newt and Minho...This time, you ran as fast as you can

When the four of you reached the opening, you bent down and took deep breaths, your H/N hair covering most of your face from the other gladers

Alby walked towards you and you slowly looked up...."You sure are suicidal"
