chapter 11: lets go to the skatepark

jacks pov.

we both finished our food, even though i finished before him. i just waited for him to be done. "so felix.. do you have an eye on anyone?" i asked him. i still wanted to know who he was talking about the first day of school. "m-me? no i- nooo heh no i- i don't" he said. he was blushing, he got nervous. "are you sure? why'd u get so nervous then?" i said teasingly. his eyes widened. "i- i didn't or did i-?" he said, even more nervous. "yes you did" i teased again. "well theres this gu- girl. there's this girl who i think i like". 'a.. a girl?' i don't know why but.. that kinda upset me. "oh a girl..?" i asked, not really teasing him anymore. "yeah.. uhhh it's.. marzia! i like marzia" he said. 'why'd he think about it so much.. and why'd he just burst it out like that.. i don't think he likes marzia in that way, i really don't.' maybe i just didn't want to accept it, or maybe my gut feeling was right. 'i feel like he likes me.. he just doesn't want to tell me because he doesn't want to ruin our friendship or whatever.. if only he knew..' "ohh marzia? yeah.. she's pretty.." i said, with a kinda upset undertone. "do you like her too?" he said with a teasing tone. 'shit. he doesn't know about olivia-' "jack?? do you like her too?" he asked again. i turned my face to his. "no" — i chuckled — "i have a girlfriend" i admitted. i noticed his face change so drastically, he went from happy, teasing me and having fun to.. a completely different mood. his face went dull, his smile turned into a frown. "o-oh you have a girlfriend.." he said, upset. 'yup he definitely likes me..' i thought. "yeah i do.. why'd it upset you?" i asked. he immediately changed his facial expression. "what? no- it didn't upset me ahah why'd you think that? i'm happy for you, there's no reason for me to get upset over this right?" he got nervous again. "i d-don't like you like that, and even if i did you're straight either way right? so i wouldn't get upset over this, i'm happy for you i pro-" "hey hey hey calm down bruh, no need to get so defensive" i giggled. "i- i'm sorry heh" he blushed again.

felix's pov.

'shit. can i stop being so fucking obvious? i hate how i can't hide my feelings for him no matter how hard i try. he probably knows at this point' i told myself. "let's go upstairs shall we?" i heard him say. "alright!" i answered. "that's my parents room, that one is shared by my two sisters, that over there is my brother's, my other brother moved out. and this one over here is mine". i was surprised, his house was so pretty. he opened the door to his room. i noticed there was a drum-set in the corner. "woah you play the drums?" i asked him excitedly. "yeah! i do actually, it's something i really like to do and it makes me happy" he chuckled. "your room is really nice, i like it" i said. "thank you so much fe! i appreciate it" he said and have me a soft, friendly punch in the arm. we just talked for a bit in his room, a d waited for it to be 5.

"hey its uh.. its 4:50 already, do u think we should get going?" i asked him. "yeah! lets go, i'll bring some monster if you want, just so we stay hydrated" he told me. "yes! of course, i love monster". we went downstairs and grabbed two monster cans from the mini-fridge. "mom we're gonna go skate for a bit, we'll be back at around 6:30. im taking my phone, you can call me whenever you want" he told his mom. "that's alright sweetie! have fun" she said. we grabbed both our skateboards from the car. "uhh is the skatepark far from here? we can drive there if it is" he asked. "no its not that far" i chuckled. "we can probably walk there. i'll skate there, i know where it is, you can just follow me". he agreed to walk there. i let my skateboard fall on the ground and got on it, then started pushing so i'd get some speed. not too much, i didn't want jack to get too behind. we got there in a few minutes, the skatepark was almost empty. i got off my board and picked it up. "here we go" — i told jack — "the skatepark is right here". "oh! i've seen it before!" "for real?" "yeah! sometimes i used to walk around and watch the sunset around here, i used to always see some people skating but i never really payed close attention" "oh, well now you'll actually skate here today" "yeah!! im so excited to learn" he said to me while smiling. we entered the skatepark and let both of our monster cans on a bench along with our phones. this was going to be fun.
