Chapter 6: Happy Birthday

Y/N's pov

I woke up still as tired, I got my phone to check the date and time. It was Oct. 10, 9:05a.m. My eyes widened 'OH MY GOSH IT'S TEAM FORTESS'S BIRTHDAY TODAY...well the game ofcourse' I sighed and giggled to myself, the guys shouldn't be up yet so I have all the time today. I call my boss to tell her the news

"Hey, Lea today it's my friend's birthday and I'm wondering if I could have the day off"

"Oh sure thing Y/n but extra shift tomorrow"

"Oh thank you! I'll be sure to stay later tomorrow"

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow. Can't miss a good birthday now can we?"

"Hehe. Okay, byee"

I hung up and got dressed for the day. Walking out of my room I was greeted with sleeping men in the living room. I let out a giggle, I expected them to be asleep. I walked over to the kitchen to cook them breakfast while they sleep. I ended up cooking some bacon and eggs, at the smell of food I could tell the men woke up because of the groans of tiredness I heard. I was about to go into the living room when "thank you for making us breakfast darlin'" a voice came from behind me "huh?" I turned around only to be greeted by Spy and Engineer "oh, your welcome" I nodded.

"Why aren't 'ou at vork zoday?" Asked the Frenchman "well, I decided to take the day off to make something special for someone" I smiled and the two rose a brow "may we know who that is?" Engineer asked "it's a secret" I winked "ok?" Engineer nodded in confusion just like his friend "anyway" I caught the two's attention "let's go get the others...we don't want cold breakfast" I laughed and went into the living room to get the others. "She's hiding zomething" Spy suspect and Engineer nodded "betta keep ah close eye on her" he suggested, getting a nod from Spy.

And the two got plates of food. After breakfast the men were doing their own thing, Engie, Spy, and Sniper were playing poker. Heavy and Medic were reading a book? Scout and Soldier were watching TV and Pyro was doing some drawings. Demo was asleep on the couch. I decided to get my purse then head out, I went to my room to grab my keys. I walked back into the living room "hey guys, I'm gonna go..uh..buy my dog some treats so...I'll see you guys later" they nodded and I left.

2nd person pov

Spy and Engineer suspected something, Spy looked over at his friend, expecting to get an answer. only to get a shrug as an answer, he groaned in confusion and sat down on the couch. Everyone's attention went to him then Engineer with confused faces, Engineer then mentioned them to gather around for a discussion. As they all sat down in the middle of the living room they began discussing about what they were going to do and how they were going to get back to their time.

While the men were having a little meeting, you were in the bakery getting them a cake. Making sure it had a printed out picture of the men on the cake, you just hoped they would expect it. Not really knowing what kind of presents to get them you only got them the cake, you were on your way home with the cake that sat next to you. Once arriving home you got out and thankfully the cake was put into a box that didn't show any signs of it. The box was decorated with a whole bunch of Team Fortess related things, including the class symbols. You really did work hard on it.

You opened the door and walked into your house as Engineer came behind you to close it "thank you" you smiled at him and took the box to the kitchen and put it in the fridge and went back to the living room, then sat down on the couch next to one of the mercs. You noticed how they were all looking at you and you smiled for a bit then out of nowhere said "what if I told you in this time you guys are used as gaming characters?" Each one of the men froze and looked at you with a face of 'your kidding'. You laughed at their reactions before pausing and started explaining to them about when their game was released and how each class main has a very good skill.

The discussion probably left the men lost for words, you giggled at their reactions before getting up and mentioning them to come with you. They followed you to the kitchen with confused faces but didn't mind, you told them to sit down at the dinner table, which they did. You grabbed the box in the fridge and walked back over to them, putting the box in front of you as the men's attention was on you "now..does anyone remember when the game came out?" You asked "two thousand seven October ten?" Said Demoman

"correct! And can you guess what today is?" You smirked, hoping they'd understand. Which they did when their eyes widened and pink dusted onto their cheeks "Happy Birthday Team Fortess 2" you said opening the box to reveal the cake that had all of the mercenaries printed on their. All of their jaws dropped and you laughed at their reactions before singing the Happy Birthday song.

Once the song was finished you grabbed a knife and plates with forks. Giving each man a piece of cake you smiled as they looked at you "well? What are you looking at? Dig in" you laughed and the mercenaries smirked at you before starting to eat their slices of delicious cake. Some of them even rolled their eyes to the back of their head because of how good the cake tastes. You let out a giggle before getting yourself a slice and trying it, the cake was really good.
