Flames of Revenge

We woke up at around eight in the morning, the usual time for us. Mom had left us breakfast because she went out to most likely go to the pokemon center to give Mr. Mime a checkup. We ate in comfortable silence as we thought of our next battle, and after we finished breakfast we had to get a move on. We headed right to the lab and we noticed Tyranitar interacting with some of his old friends,

"Ah, Ash, the Tyranitar you brought in is making a great recovery," Professor Oak said as he approached us, "Should be good to return to Mt. Silver in no time,"

"Excellent," I said as Lillie and I looked to the beast of a pokemon, "I'm glad he's been recovering, I can see his armor has been repaired." Suddenly the Tyranitar came running over to the three of us and gave a roar as if to show off how much he recovered. I gave a smile of contentment as I was juggling a couple pokeballs in my hand. They all were empty, and the Tyranitar seemed to notice it. It roared as it pointed to one of them,

"You want to join me?" I asked it, a little shocked, "Are you sure that you want that and not to return to Mt. Silver?" The beast nodded and before I could react, snatched a pokeball from my hand and tapped the button, capturing itself. "Well then, I caught a Tyranitar," I shrugged and sent it out to join the others on the ranch. I noticed a beam of light shooting from the lake, signaling Giratina's return from its nightly patrol of the distortion world, and he flew over to me,

"Ketchum, I believe this may concern you," It stated in my head with telepathy,

"Go on," I responded,

"A pair of legendary pokemon have been spotted outside of town," Giratina said, "I suggest finding a way to keep an eye on them. Permission to monitor their condition while you battle in the second round of the tournament?"

"Of course, but one question," I said, "Which two are they?"

"Latios and Latias. I'm sure you've met one of them," Giratina stated as he extended his wings, "I must be going without delay. Good luck today, Ketchum." With that it flew away,

"I hope those two are alright," Lillie said, "When did you meet Latios and Latias anyways?"

"It was in a city called Altomare. Amazing place," I said fondly, "Sadly that's where I learned that you can't protect everyone. One of the pokemon I had to protect gave its life for the cause. Which was to protect the Soul Dew. However, that had to have been at least eight years ago." Lillie put a hand on my shoulder. She didn't need to say anything to comfort me,

"Let's go find out our next opponents," She said, "Maybe that can help you out,"

"Yeah, give me a moment to assemble my next team," I replied as I walked back into the Ranch, now with Tyranitar. It didn't take me long to find Venosaur,

"Gather them all here, Venosaur," I stated as he fired the Solar Beam, summoning my Pokemon,

"We're moving on, folks," I said with a smile as the others cheered, "Now it's time for a new batch of three." I released the Johto starters and they fell back in line, and then I paced around my group of Pokemon,

"Before I choose, I have someone you should meet," I revealed Tyranitar, and the pokemon that were with me when we originally met him as a Larvitar greeted him like an old friend, "Everyone, this is Tyranitar. A rock-dark type, pseudo-legendary, pokemon. He will be a valuable addition to our group and a lifelong friend from here on out, so treat him well." The pokemon all gave a roar of approval of their powerful new friend. Even Charizard was open for once. I guess he could tell just how powerful Tyranitar was, so it's wonderful to see that he was accepted, "Now back to business, my next team for round two will be quite interesting. First and foremost, I will bring Tyranitar in order to acclimate him to our battling style and to test him," I smirked and Tyranitar walked over to my side, footsteps shaking the ground as he moved, "Next, I want Torterra and Seismitoad."

I evolved my Palpitoad around the time I first went to Alola after the betrayal. Seismotiad is incredibly powerful and unique. His weakness to electric types are completely negated due to its ground typing, making him perfect for this next battle, although I will need to be careful about grass types. Luckily it has ice punch in it's arsenal as some easy coverage. Also, just like all of my pokemon, seismitoad is incredibly powerful.

I don't think I have to go into detail about why I picked Torterra. He's one of my best pokemon from my sinnoh days. Now that I had my team assembled, I went back to Lillie,

"Alright, I'm back," I said to Lillie, "You got your team set?"

"Yeah!" She chirped, "Weavile, Froslass, and Ninetails are all set to go!" I smiled as she said that, she really has come a long way, "Your team?"

"Seismitoad, Torterra, and Tyranitar," I stated, "I thought it was a good time to give Tyranitar his first taste of a battle alongside us,"

"Well I'm sure he'll do great!" She exclaimed as we came up to the stadium entrance. The two of us walked inside hand in hand and we met up with the other elites of our region,

"Well, Ash," Brock said right away, "I got paired to face off against Lucy." Now that's good luck. Its been years since the two last saw each other. Lucy is no joke because of her status as a Frontier Brain, but I know Brock's pokemon are incredibly powerful, so it will be a good one,

"Wow," I said, "Well, good luck with that. Who did you get Miette?" I then asked, and she just got a huge grin on her face,

"Serena," She said with a clap, "Time for me to show her what it means to hurt someone like you, especially regarding your history with her,"

"Miette," Its been five years, I've moved on from her the moment she betrayed me, "That was five years ago, but if you insist on rekindling that long forgotten rivalry, be my guest. Now, Gary, who did you get?"

"Ahh, some rando named Trip," He said. I knew Trip from Unova, but he never had met him, "Shouldn't be too much for Blastoise and the crew to handle,"

"Ha, I haven't heard that name in ages, Gary," I said, "He's a decent trainer if he was invited here, just don't underestimate that Serperior of his. Now I believe Lillie and I have to see our matchups,"

With that, we left to look at the big bracket, and we noticed that the losers from yesterday were all crossed out, and I looked for my name and oh boy was this a shock,

Ash vs Drew

I have absolutely no clue if Arceus himself got involved, but I swear fate is just handing me chances for revenge. I then looked at the rules and completely forgot that this next battle was going to be four on four,

"Ah shoot, Lillie, we kinda messed up," I said with a sigh, "We forgot a fourth Pokemon,"

"Oh," she said while holding her chin, "I'll run back and grab Glalie then, any pokemon you want in particular?"

Before I could answer her, I saw May walk up to us,

"Umm, hey," She said shyly, "Can you uhh, do me a favor and use my Blaziken? I saw you had Drew as your opponent,"

"Why?" I said plainly,

"I talked with Drew last night," She said, "Just like you said, but he brushed me off. He thought I was joking when I told him it was over,"

"Darn. . ." I said, "Is Blaziken up for it?" She nodded and held out the pokeball. I hesitantly took it, "I'll make sure I use Blaziken on his Roserade." By this point, Lillie went to pick up Glalie, and I returned to my group and we continued our small talk until Gary and Brock were both called to their battlefields. They were the first of the day. Myself and Miette went up to the Elite's box and joined the rest of the Elite Fours and Champions.

As everybody was conversing, I stared at Blaziken's pokeball. I had a job to do. If this is how May wants to get back at Drew for tormenting her for the past five years, I won't complain.

Drew is responsible for May's betrayal after all, and now Blaziken's flames of revenge will consume his pokemon.
