Chapter 27. Unexpected questions.

Dr Palmer had concluded that she was still trying to reassert a measure of control into her sexual experiences.
Cadence had to agree on that point. It was something that she tried to capture back at the facility. Being in control meant no pain, or at least not as much.

He said that this willingness to offer ones body could be extremely toxic in most cases. Cadence's situation however, was different.
He explained that Marcus had suffered wounds of his own, and together - if both parties were completely honest and willing to participate- they could use it to strengthen their relationship.
After all, happy couples had happy sex lives.

After Cadence's disclosures, she stopped worrying about it so much. She just let her feelings and fantasies flow like a stream.

Together, her and Marcus had delved into a world of sexual exploration. Sex toys and occasional mild bondage kept things unexpected and exciting.
The memories of their horrific ordeal kept them from taking things too far.
But one thing they had discovered, was their love for kinky fun. That was only possible through the unbreakable trust they shared.

"Get a move on Sugar Lips!" Marcus called from the hall, lifting Cadence from her musings.

She couldn't help but laugh.
They had taken to giving each other sweet, yet silly nicknames during private conversations.

"Okay! Grabby-ass! I'm just getting dressed." She shouted back.

Marcus drove his new, pre-owned car to their mystery destination.

Marcus had got himself a legitimate security job at a large distribution company, but Cadence suspected he found it a little boring.
Without his managerial duties, he just patrolled the warehouses.

It had allowed him to get his flat on the outskirts of the city, and paid for his car, but Cadence wanted him to land his dream job. Something where he could combine is delectable brawn with his intelligent brain.
But what that was, still evaded her.

As they headed towards Derby, Cadence stared out at miles of rolling fields and farmland. She wondered idly, where their final destination would be. It wasn't just to look at the passing arable pastures.

"So where are we going?" Cadence asked.

"That would be telling." Marcus gave her a wicked sideways grin.

"Why the secrecy? Are you kidnapping me and dragging me off to some hellhole?" She joked. It wasn't often that he did surprises.

Marcus's smile fell from his face. His brow furrowed in annoyance.
"That's not funny Cadence." He said quietly.

"I'm sorry." Cadence replied swiftly.
'Jeez, it was just a joke. What got him so wound up? If anyone was allowed to joke about it, then it should be me.' Cadence thought to herself.

Marcus didn't often get upset or annoyed with her. His expression alone usually had her rushing to apologise, no matter what she had done - or not done. He looked like a lost little boy.
Cadence didn't want to be the reason he made those faces.

Marcus took a deep breath and sighed.
"It's going to be fun, just a nice place for an evening picnic, that's all. Let's not fall out before we even get there." He breathed, as he reached over to place his hand on her thigh.

"I'm sorry. No more jokes about kidnapping. A picnic sounds great. I never envisioned you as the picnic type. Maybe spending all your time with me is bringing out your feminine side." Cadence teased him, placing her hand on top of his.

"I get guy time." Marcus snorted indignantly.

"When?" She asked, surprised. He had never once left for an evening with the boys.
