See the world,
in shades of green and grey.
The scent of Summer passing
carries on the cool breeze.
Birds and insects chirp,
and rustle in the trees
who's shadows are dark yet welcoming.
The pond ripples
ever changing, always moving.
My feet scrape on the pavement
as I carry on.
Wilting flowers, punctuate the end of home,
and I carry on.
The sounds of life never cease.
Banging,
sawing,
speaking.
A motor growls lowly in the distance
and music drifts from a nearby window.
Up ahead a sign reads
"STOP"
and I do.
There am,
reflected in the glass,
Waiting for what's next.
