Wyatt's POV

Piper: At least your cake made it to the end.

Mom laughed as she cleaned up the dining room table after the birthday party she just threw for me.

Piper: Chris's caught fire.

Wyatt: Yeah, thanks to Jason.

I turned to see Chris, Sam, and Jason talking in the conservatory. Mom chuckled before taking the used paper plates into the kitchen. I walked into the conservatory to join Chris and his friends.

Wyatt: Hey, thanks for the gifts, guys. Baseball? Funny, Sam.

Sam smiled and shrugged.

Sam: I thought you could learn. Come to me if you need help.

Wyatt: Yeah, I'll think about it.

Jason: I'd better get going. Thanks for inviting me, Wyatt. Oh ...

Jason walked up to me. I backed up a little, not knowing what he's going to do. Jason rolled his eyes before whispering to me.

Jason: Calm down, I was just going to say I'm glad I didn't set fire to your cake.

I smiled and nodded before slapping his shoulder.

Wyatt: Yeah, thanks.

Jason waved at Chris and Sam before heading toward the door, saying "hi" to someone on his way out. I raised an eyebrow and moved to see Jason leaving the house and his uncle coming in. John quickly walked through the dining room and into the kitchen. Chris, Sam, and I watched his movement the whole way.

Sam: Was that Jason's uncle?

Chris nodded.

Sam: He knows your Mom's married right?

Chris scrunched up his face in disgust while I scoffed.

Sam: I'm just asking.

Chris: He's a family friend.

Sam raised an eyebrow.

Sam: Since when?

Chris shrugged as he stood and picked up a few used paper cups.

Chris: Since December.

Sam: Why?

Wyatt: You ask too many questions. Just leave it at that.

Sam stared at me before nodding and crossing his arms.

Sam: Fine.

Piper's POV

Phoebe: That went well.

I nodded as I threw away the paper plates.

Piper: Yeah, his cake didn't catch fire.

Phoebe laughed as she put the unused napkins back in the kitchen cabinet.

Phoebe: Now that we know the cause, it's kind of funny.

Piper: Yeah. Starting a $20 ice cream cake on fire, hilarious.

Phoebe nodded as John quickly walked into the kitchen.

Piper: Woah. What's up?

John started speaking, a little out of breath.

John: The Elemental leader, he said that shift in the climate is happening soon. He had a vision. We have to do that ritual as soon as possible.
