He is the eldest kit of the leader of Prideclan (if you read Shadow's Flights you may have heard of this-) therefore he had big expectations for himself. As an warrior apprentice, he was ambitious on being the greatest warrior he could be. And often picked fights with the older apprentices.

He decided to pick on a dog to impress his father that he was capable of becoming a warrior earlier. As a result, he didn't win that fight, and could no longer be a warrior because of his leg. However, it was able to be healed; he was too stubborn to listen therefore his leg didn't heal. As a result, he became a medicine cat apprentice, a furious medicine cat. He convinced himself to eliminate those who "SEEMED" to talk shi- bout him behind his back... By giving them the no no berries when they needed medical assistance-
