Alvira gripped the edge of her locker and closed the book in front of her. She raised her head and turned her gaze to where Cedric was seated, he was in the middle of a discussion with a dark-haired girl and from the smile on his face he was pretty interested in what she was saying. Pain surged through her and she looked away.

Was she angry? She questioned herself as her thoughts were conflicting. No, she was jealous. Jealousy was exactly the feeling playing in her. It had been two days since he took her number yet he hadn't uttered a word to her after that. It was like she didn't exist anymore. Images of herself picking up her phone and waiting for a message to pop in clouded her memory and she felt absurd, she quickly shoved the thoughts aside and stood up to leave the class. It was a free period so she could use it to clear her mind.
Walking to the school garden, she took out her book and tried reading but it only proved abortive. The image of Cedric and the dark haired girl kept on flowing in and cloudiung her thoughts.

Releasing a frustrated sigh, she kept it beside her and bent her head. Why was she bothered in the first place; it wasn't like they were close friends or dating so collecting her number wasn't a guarantee he would call or text. She tried consoling herself but it only got worse, everything she had told him was true. Could it be I like him? She asked herself.   Though she had stalked him from the first day she joined the school till how happy she was when he asked for her number were clear signs of how she crushed on him but she denied them.

Finally the truth hit her and she sat up, the feeling of jealousy abd hurt in her was only because she liked him and felt ignored.

"What were you thinking Alvira?" She mummured bending her head.

"Hey Alvira" a voice spoke up beside her. She looked up instantly and frowned when she saw the figure in front of her.

"Huh! You don't want to see me here?"

"Cora, why are you here. I thought you've left the school".

"Of course I've left this shithole of a school. I just stopped by to greet a few of my friends". Cora replied and flicked an invisible dirt from her manicured nails.

"Whatever". Alvira rolled her eyes and turned away.

"By the way, what am I hearing about you and Cedric?" She lingered on refusing to ignore how she was overlooked.

Alvira slammed her note and turned to face her unwelcomed visitor. "What in the fucking world are you ranting about?"

"Don't act for me senōrita, you're better than that. I heard you and Cedric are getting pretty close" she bent and whispered close to her ears, her eyes lit up with a mischievous gleam.

"Did you come here to stir trouble?" Alvira asked clearly disgusted.

She giggled and replied "Not at all dear.. he took your number, didn't he?"

"Cora, stop this trash.."

"Stop what?" Cora interrupted. "I just saw Becka sitting with him in class and they looked pretty close to me.... More than friends sort of company"

Alvira's eyes turned dark and she stood up immediately with her fists curled up.

"Get out now!" She thundered.

"I did hear you guys are some sort of couple but it seems like the news aren't right this time around, you look like a total stranger" she paused. "Do you know why?" Her cat-shaped eyes widened.

Alvira tried to calm her breathing which was turning raged, whatever Cora was going to say it was obvious she had heard some talks amongst her friends and had come to taunt her.

"I don't care to know. Get out before I do something drastic"

"Like what?" A taunting expression filled Cora's face. "Cause a stampede or get the security throw me out?"

Alvira felt a massive force of anger erupting within her, this tramp had definitely pushed her limit button. Dragging her by the hair, she pulled Cora to the middle of the garden and dealt a few slaps on her face. Cora threw her fingers out to scratch her and Dodge her slaps in retaliation.

"You stupid animal, all you ever do is bully and insult people like you are way better than them!" Alvira shouted pulling and tugging at her hair. "I've had enough of you and and your bitchy attitude" she added.

Some of the students standing and watching them fight rushed out and tried to separate them.

"You crazy freak! You should be ashamed of yourself. Trying to steal people's boyfriend" Cora yelled struggling and trying to push off the people restraining her.

"People's boyfriend?" Alvira chuckled, her voice purely dripping with sarcasm. "No one wants a slut like you not even Cedric" Alvira shouted back.

"Tsk tsk... you only say that to console yourself. It's really a pity you like him and he totally ignores you. You are pathetic". Alvira flushed red in embarrassment and rushed forward to give Cora another slap; how dare her expose her in front of the whole school? Now everyone knew she liked Cedric.

"What of you little swamp?"

" You can yell all you want but I just want you to know Cedric is mine. Stay away from him". Cora freed herself from the grips on her arms and marched forward to where Alvira stood, she picked up her purse lying on the bench and pointed her fingers to Alvira's face.

"That's all I have to say. Next time won't be so nice"

"How do you think I would believe a dirtbag like you?". Alvira scoffed.

"If he didn't have ties with me, he would have been out here fighting me but as you can see, he's talking to my friend Becka in class" she retorted and sashyed out of the crowd.

Murmurs broke out amongst the crowd as they all struggled to believe what Cora had said. Most of them looked around and saw no sign of Cedric while some went to class and came back to report that Cedric and Becka were in the cafeteria having lunch on the same table. Many began to believe what Cora had mentioned and looked at Alvira with sympathy in their eyes; this only made her become more embarassed. If the pair weren't dating, he would have definitely come out to counter Cora afterall everyone knew of their guess in school before she left.

It was a wonder how the two had reconciled and kicked off a romantic relationship but no one had seen the smirk on Cora's face as she walked out neither did they know everything had been planned out by Cora.

The crowd slowly dispersed while Alvira waited till they were almost gone before she picked up her novel and walked off to class. Tears welled up in her eyes but refused to fall out, just then she bumped into someone and immediately looked up to apologise. Her eyes jammed with Cedric's own and for a split second she was mute, beside him was the stupid Becka of a girl.

In as much as she tried not to believe what Cora had said, the sight of the two in front of her was enough proof. Muttering an inaudible apology, she rushed off to the ladies room and locked herself in. Making sure no one was present, she bent her head and let her tears pour out. Meanwhile Cedric was unaware of the drama in the school garden, he shrugged his shoulders and headed to the classroom.

In a black sedan car,Cora sat enjoying the full blast of the air conditioner, she sipped her juice and scrolled through her phone. An evil smile was spread throughout her face as messages popped in; her mission had been accomplished. Did Cedric think it was over after humiliating her the second time? She had transferred school two weeks after the humiliating incident because she couldn't cope with the stares and gossip in school but who said she couldn't get revenge. As expected, her boyfriend Richard had ended their relationship and no one had asked her out after that. Since he had stripped her of such privilege, she vowed that he would never have a good relationship with anyone and destroy any girl's dream of getting involved with him.

"Cedric dear, you are entitled to me and no one else. Hope you enjoy the games cos I just started" she said to herself and closed her eyes.
