It had started out as a hot, sunny day in the small town of Lentington. The sky was a deep blue and just a few fluffy clouds floated lazily overhead. Rays of golden sun beamed through the hallways of Lentington High School where a few hundred children sat at their desks, some laughing and joking, some heads down at their books, and some passing secret notes across the classroom. The day had started like any other ordinary day for Lily Brown. She had changed into her white shirt and navy-blue blazer which proudly advertised the school logo on the front left pocket. She had slipped on her black leggings, hoping she wouldn't be caught wearing them by any of the teachers, pulled on her black shoes and thrust her backpack over her shoulder. She had hugged and kissed her mum goodbye, telling her she loved her and then ran out the door to the bus stop where her best friend Zoe Parker had been waiting for her. The same routine every day. The same first-period Tuesday morning maths class when she arrived at school. But all of that was about to change.
