Chapter 3

"Why did you break from it?!"

Your POV

He yelled, you just stood there, you never thought Sasori could even get in such a state. His entire body went forward, pushing you against a tree, he lifted his hand, sliding his cold fingers from your arm to your neck, until he finally reached your face, lifting your face. Your eyes lock on his.

"Answer. Why did you stop this time?" Sasori says. Intensity. That's all you could think about this situation, his eyes, staring to intensively into yours as if you had something he looked for his entire life.

"Why were you doing that?" You say, relaxing your muscles as your body reaches closer to his. Sasori seemed unsure. Could he not have an answer to such a simple question? He backs away, staring down. "I apologize" Sasori says slowly moving his body away from you. But those were not the words you wanted to hear, his body moving away, leaving your body cold once again. That's not what you wanted, not again. 

"Wait. I-" You say, your body naturally reached for his. You held his wrist, making him look back at you, his expressionless face was enough to make the situation way harder. "I didn't want to break from it either" You say, confidently. "But I just wanted to know why" You finish, releasing his wrist as he looked deeply into you. You could see he was having a hard time putting words together. You sighed, closing your eyes as you backed away, you reach for your cloak and put it on, Sasori still standing where you left him. 

"It's ok" You say walking past him, not looking back until you finally reach the others, the fire was already out. You sit by the remaining smoke, leaning on a tree trunk, your body felt so heavy and for the first time in so long, you closed your eyes and fell asleep.

_time skip_

"Ooohh, Tobi didn't know doll's slept too!" Tobi says, on his knees beside you. "Geez, let the poor girl rest, un" Deidara says, walking towards you two. You rub your eyes as they adapt to the light. "I'm so so sorry if Tobi woke you up y/n-chan" He says, worried. "It's ok Tobi" You say getting up and cleaning your cloak from some leaves that fell while you were asleep.

"You've got something here" Kisame says, reaching you from behind and removing a remaining leaf from your hair. "Thank you" You say giving him a small smile.

Sasori POV

"They seem to be getting along just well" A voice behind me says, I look back, only to see Tobi also staring at y/n and Kisame. "Nothing but common friends interaction" I say shrugging. 

"Ooh, Sasori is jealous of Kisame and y/n, Tobi knew it!" The masked man yells, I use my chakra strings to lift him up, luckily no one heard him.

A couple of hours have passed, y/n and Kisame were walking just behind me and Deidara, every now and then I hear her giggle, It's frustrating how something simple as that is making me feel a warmth on my chest. I hate this, I hate the fact someone is making me feel again.

"We have arrived" Pain said, looking at a nearby village. "So, what are we even doing in here?" Hidan said leaning on a tree.

"We need to gather information about a certain group of impostors, they claim to be part of the Akatsuki. This is the last place they have been seen." Pain says before giving more details of our mission. 

Everyone paired up as usual, except for y/n. I resisted the urge to drag her with me, turning my back to her and walking towards the village. 

Your POV

Everyone left, except for you, Konan, Tobi, and Pain. 

"Y/n, y/n! Do you want to buy candy with Tobi?" Tobi said, breaking the awkward silence. You nod as both of you walk towards the village. "Tobi loooves candy, y/n loves candy too, right?" "I never tried it before"  Your statement seems to shock the masked man. "What? Not even once?" He insists. 

Tobi leads you into a simple store, the wooden floor cracks as you two step inside. "Here we are!" Tobi yells, running towards a balcony filled with all kinds of candy in glass jars. You look around the place, it's quite dark and old, the opposite of what candy stores should look like, Tobi doesn't seem to care about that though. He runs to you with a bag filled up with candy, he pulls you outside before you could even ask if he was done.

You two sit in a wooden bench, he excitedly opens the bag, removing a lollipop and offering it to you. "Here! Tobi loves this lollipop, y/n is gonna love it too" He says as you take the candy from his hand. "So, am I supposed to chew it?" You say removing the wrapper. "No no! You're supposed to suck on it until it's over"  You sigh, how could flavored saliva taste good? You gently put the lollipop in your mouth, the taste was just too good, making you feel goosebumps on your back. You widen your eyes as a soft pink blush appears on your face, you look at Tobi who seems surprised with your reaction. 

"It's...really really good" You say tasting more of it. "Tobi knew y/n would love it!" He excitedly says, taking more candy from the bag. "You need to try these too-" Tobi was shortly cut by someone taking the bag from his hands. "I think you two had enough" You look up, only to see Sasori holding the bag. You two lock eyes, you swear he blushed a bit, but before you could confirm anything, he turns his back on you and Tobi. 

"There's no use staying here, we're heading back to the hideout" "Heeeey! My candy!" Tobi yells as the two of them leave you behind, you hold tight onto the lollipop, 'such a troublesome one'.

Timeskip

"So, basically Leader-sama decided to go deal with those impostors all by himself, and I think Konan decided to help him" Deidara said, not even bothering to look up from the clay in his hands. 

"You're telling me we came all the way here for fucking nothing?" Hidan yelled, everyone seemed quite suspicious of Pain's decision, he didn't seem like the type to change his mind so fast. 'He could be hiding something', you thought to yourself, but before you could add anything else, you feel someone grabbing your arm. 

"That means we can go back to the village, right? Let's buy more candy y/n-chan, pleeease?" The masked man begged, holding your arm tighter. "Absolutely not, we're heading back to the hideout"  You hear the redhead says, throwing Tobi's candy bag back to him. 

And just like that, suddenly, everyone started to discuss whether or not it was a good idea to stay. You sat back, leaning on a tree, 'how troublesome'.
