"Time of death: 12:35pm. Patient: Alec Donavan. Age 19." The gruff voice of the surgeon standing over the newly deceased Alec spoke. His voice reflecting the thoughts of the surrounding surgeons, as the sound of the flatlining heart monitor echoed in the now quiet room.

Blood still dripping from his hands. The surgeons took a minute to morn the boy.

Alec had been diagnosed with an incurable type of Leukemia from a young age, at 3 years old. It was by chance that his mother had taken him to get a physical done. It goes without question that no one expected the bloodwork would show Mrs.Donavan's son had cancer.

That day, she cried for hours. Holding her child, refusing to let him go. It wasn't until she had cried herself to sleep. Alec still held within her arms, did her husband take his son to be put to bed. Only to join his wife in her sorrow until the morning.

This was the darkest of days to come for Alec. Since then there had been nothing but pain for the boy.

Radiation had taken his hair, the hospital had taken his time, and the bills had taken his fathers love.

The treatment for cancer is horribly expensive. Mr.Donavan had at first spared no effort to get the treatments his son needed to live. But as the years went by, and the money he had worked so many hours for was never enough. He started to resent his son, to even blame him for needing to take a second mortgage. It wasn't until they had to sell his family's house to help pay the debts they owed did Mr.Donavan verbalize his anger.

Blame was given to not only his innocence son. But also to his loving wife. But Mr. Donavan never crossed the line. It's for this reason that Mrs, Donavan forgave him, as she understood how much stress he must be feeling.

It was Alec however that could not forgive. Not his father, but himself. Alec couldn't bring himself to blame his father for his hatred of him. He has done nothing but make their life harder. Had it not been for his mother that always had a smile whenever in the same room as him. Alec wouldn't have had the will to keep fighting. It was also his mother that made it a point to always bring with her new books and stories whenever she'd visit him at the hospital.

It was like this that Alec lived his life. Hating his weaknesses, and vowing to keep fighting so that he can one day pay back all that he's cost his family. He'd also spend his days dreaming of the many things he'd read in his books. His dreams would range from camping in the wild, to climbing to the highest mountain tops to look above the clouds.

But Alec was never able to repay his family. Neither was he able to see the world.

After 16 years of perseverance. Alec died because of complications during surgery. The fact that he'd survived as long as he did could be considered a medical miracle.

At the time Mr. and Mrs. Donavan were waiting in angst in the waiting area.
Mrs. Donavan's eyes would always trail back to the double doors. Waiting for the surgeon to come out and tell her that the surgery was a success. That the biopsy of the cancer in his liver went well and her baby didn't have to worry about liver failure for now.

But Mrs.Donavan's hopes would soon be dashed when the surgeon walked through the doors with a look of pity. Without even a word, Mrs.Donavan turned to her husband and cried loudly. No longer listening to the surgeon as he explains to her how her son died on the table.

The funeral was nice, and Mrs.Donavan had a necklace made with the ashes of her son. It was hard, but both Mr. and Mrs. Donavan started to heal after mourning their child. Eventually they found happiness again in the form of their newly born baby girl.

Although Mr. and Mrs. Donavan found happiness and moved on from their sons death. Alec was filled with regret. He died with out even living.

His soul that was filled with regret eventually found its way to the realm of tormented souls. It was here that Alecs soul rested. Surrounded by an infinitely increasing number of souls. All just like him.

Time passed and the spiritual energy that had made up Alecs soul was beginning to dissipate without a host to contain it. His fate, much like the other unfortunate souls. It was at this time that a dark energy surrounded Alecs dissipating soul. Preserving it and drawing it away into a crack in space.

Unbeknownst to the little soul. A being of near infinite power had at random chosen a soul to be its new source of entertainment. This being of power had the idea to take a tormented soul and give it new life. To see what path the soul would take. What life it would live, and what form would the soul take in its death.

With this as it's plan, a new body was formed for the soul. One of strength and good health. Much the opposite of Alecs original body. Like this, he sent the boy to a universe of primordial chaos. A universe where Gods being born and killed is trivial gossip. On a planet called Eden. A planet where even magic existed.

It will be here that the soul once known as Alec will live anew.

That is if he can survive the Forest of Ravages.
