I loved the way she listened

I loved the way she talked

Hid candy just for me, and gave me soda pop

She had a stuffed lioness

When she left this earth i was a mess

My sisters and I called her Nonie

Though her name was Josephine

I love her very much

I have her trinkets and such

A necklace that she gave me

The card that made me laugh like crazy

A smile on her face

I watch her in my mind

in such a familiar place.

Memories of us, could fill the outer space

The day she passed i didn't cry

I didn't create a flood

Yet I felt the current of longing

running through my blood

I never gave her a necklace

I'd planned to give her when I came

I would have mailed it to her,

but it wouldn't have felt the same

Overall I love her,

and that will never change.
