One by one.

One by one in the most violent way possible, three of Wellston's most influential figures were torn down from the delusion of status that was known as Wellston's hierarchy. Or rather, they tasted the bitter reality of their new world before them.

There's always someone stronger than you. And nine out of ten times, there's nothing you can do about it.

"Stop!" Remi choked out. Even through the blood drenching half of her vision, and the pulsating gashes threatening to steal her consciousness, the fire hasn't left her golden eyes. "There's no point in all this fighting! What are you accomplishing by beating everyone senseless?! You haven't solved anything! All you've done is hurt people! Urgh—!" The energy beams! The home in on me! How am I supposed to evade them?!

A miraculous yellow barrier shielded the lethal beams at the last second. Arlo stood there, breathing heavily with a drop of blood sliding down his mouth. Remi ran over to him. "I'm fine. It's just a crack. What about you? I told you to stay down!"

"I can keep going!" The pinkette rebutted.

Huffing only rage, John gritted, Arlo, you backstabbing piece of shit! I'm going to rip you to shreds!

After exchanging a few blows, Remi and Arlo realized something. John hasn't copied Arlo's ability despite knowing that it would be tremendously useful to him. So four abilities is his limit? Or maybe he can't handle as many high-level skills? Either way, we have a chance now!

Among the dozens of spectators by the upper floors of the building, was a certain purple and green haired girl, watching the fight with an internal war tearing her heart apart. She collapsed to her knees in denial, but deep down, she now knew the truth. Arlo was right. T..that posture...

"Take this!" Remi yelled.

Arlo used his barrier to trap John in place while blue electricity surged inside.

It was wearing him down, but it was not enough. Not even close. No way in hell, I'm losing to you motherfuckers! I'll blow a hole through your damn barrier—!

When he broke through the yellow barrier despite the high voltage straining him, they knew they had been outclassed again.

If I time this right.. Remi swallowed, the metallic liquid spreading over her tongue. I'll have one more attempt at his mask. Here goes nothing!

Unfortunately for her, John's reflexes pushed her arm aside and kneed her high up into the air. He then jumped up and planted his foot on her back to slam her body back into the concrete. She wouldn't be getting up again.

"Aren't you done yet?!" Arlo tackled John off Remi with whatever energy he could muster. "Your score is with me! You had no reason to beat them to that extent! What the hell did they ever do to you?!"

John wrestled the blonde off and smashed his head through the ground. He was out cold.

"Hey, you okay Seraphina?!" Holden asked frantically.

The said girl couldn't hear anything around her. All she could see was the masked Joker down below.

That's John. Their builds are identical. And the moves he's used, I've seen them all. Because he taught them to me. So after all this time...he isn't powerless. What else has he kept from me? What was real, and what wasn't? Was everything a lie? Everything she thought she knew disappeared into thin air. It was replaced with the image of a rampaging tyrant who beat people without a shred of mercy. Was it just me that's been clueless all this time? What about Y/N? Remi? Blyke? Isen? Do they know?
