We were all having a family dinner tonight and like always Anissa text's me saying she's bailing family dinner, again. "Anissa's not just late. She said she ain't coming tonight" I said Lynn looked over at my phone looking at the message Anissa sent "Should we even be surprised at this point." She sighed and laughed Dad Joins in on the conversation "We haven't seen much of her lately" he said and went to the cabinets to get the cups as Lynn stirred The food in the cooking pot "Well we raised her to be a strong independent woman" Lynn said "Well, hey look at the good side you not only succeeded but you get to spend time with your favorite daughter" I laughed and smiled at them "I thought Anissa wasn't Making it tonight though" Dad said and smirked "Oh Woow" my jaw dropped I reached for the rag on the counter and threw it at him "Family Dinners will be an intermittent priority" Lynn said "Mhmm.Jennifers only two years away from going to college, She'll stop Coming too." He responded to Lynn "That, She will" "I'm wondering..when she doesn't want to eat with us either.." Dad starts to walk closer to Lynn while smirking "You see this. This is what y'all not about to do in front of my virgin eyes, So Call me when dinners ready" I said and walked up to my room not wanting to witness That.
Jen and I walked downstairs to the kitchen "Anissa's not coming" Lynn says informing Jen "Family Dinner's optional?!" Jen questions her "Uh not for you." Dad Puts his attention on Jen and Smiles at her "Your still our little girl" He gives her a toothy Grin "Well Anissa not Coming sucks" Jen sighs "Language" Lynn says and brings a plate for Jen "I'm genuinely offended everyone just prefers Anissa over me? Like what did I do" I put my hand over my mouth obviously just messing around with them Jen stays silent and looks at me "Oh Wow." I sigh "Im messing with you" She laughs and nudges my arm "Anyways. This turn of events is dispiriting, as I also wish for her support during this repast" I look at Lynn than Lynn looks at Dad, Dad chuckles and looks at Jen once again "What do you need support for?" "I've decided, I'm ready to have sex" as soon as those words left her mouth I laughed and quickly covered my mouth "Girl. You not even like that. But aight" I took my plate and headed to the table.
"We are happy. That you came to us like we've always encouraged you to." Lynn Told Jen "So Happy." Dad gripped the table as he had his eyes closed "And glad that you felt comfortable" Lynn continued Dad finally opened his eyes and looked at Jen "You are so Young" he shook his head slowly while looking at Jen "How old were you guys?" Jen asked curiously looking at them " I don't think we wanna know that" i said and I puckered up my lips at the state of silence in the table "Never mind" Jen said and Continued to pick at her food with her fork "Your mother and I loved each other very much" "We just think that, it's very important for you to have sex with the right person ." Lynn says Jen looked at them for a second " okay. noted" Jen nodded and Continued to eat the food in her plate "So Um Saturday's the day so I'll be out in the afternoon, I'll be home by curfew" She innocently smiles at them "This Chicken is really good, the Flavor is out of this world" Destiny says and continue's to take a bite out of her Chicken leg.
"I don't think either one of them said more than "pass the salt" for the rest of the dinner. Destiny was just Unbothered by everything" Anissa laughed and looked at Destiny "Don't look at me, sis I was just trying to Enjoy my meal which was very good to add on" I said, Jen threw one of her small Sparkle Pillows at me "you could've at least acted as if you were intrigued by the conversation" "Girl, what you want me to say? omg Let's talk about How about my little sister is gonna Lose her virginity during a Saturday Afternoon Yeeeess" I pitched my voice so it sounded more girly and waved my hands around "Chris only been back for a week and You already Adopting his Humor, again" Anissa Said "Exaacctly! Let's talk about you and Chris? Huh!" Jen said and laughed "You worried bout the wrong things baby girl! Let's talk about birth control sis!" I said and threw myself at her bed.
I went to my room and started getting ready for the March that was going down Tonight, I headed over to my white Dresser and Grabbed my phone and started calling Chris "Hello? Yes I would like to make an order" Chris said through the phone "Shut up. You play too much" I laughed "I was calling to make sure if you were still going to the march tonight?" I asked "Yeah of coarse, I am" he responded "Alright that's all, talk to you later I have to go get ready" with that she hangs up the phone and starts getting prepared. * "Freedom, Freedom, Freedom,Freedom" The crowd Chanted all together holding the red candles in there hands marching all huddled up. Chris was next to Destiny marching like everyone else with the Red lit candle in his left hand Chris looked at her and smiled Destiny gave a tight smile back. In front of us I could see Construction stoppers and you would think that we would've just stopped marching at that point but, no this church is crazy when it comes to There people I'm sure they will pass by it as if it was nothing. What's the worst that could happen? Ahead I could see a man from the other side but I didn't think much of him until a loud crash came from the right side of the street, it was dad, no. it was Black lightning he crashed on top of the Car The man I had seen earlier raised his gun at us but Black lightning Made a sort of protection shield to stop the bullets I quickly grabbed Chris's hands to get us out of there so we wouldn't get hurt but, I guess I spoke to soon because I soon started feeling more familiar with my eyelids I felt a burning sensation in my head I felt the thick liquid dripping down my forehead, I could hear the screams around me Yelling my name "Stay with me Destiny, Stay with me come on" Than my eyelids gave up on me.
