~ 1 day later ~
Maggie has been out cold since her and Sasha got here. And Sasha would sit outside of Carson's trailer, all day long. It wasn't until this afternoon that Maggie actually came outside.
You help Jesus pick flowers for the graves when you noticed Maggie walking out of Carson's trailer. You nudge Jesus and hand him the flowers you just picked and pushed him to walk to the graves. Though you wanted to follow him, you didn't, you just walked back towards Barrington House.
Before you could even go inside the building your Uncle Gregory is huffing out the door. You can tell just by the look on his face that Jesus telling him about the saviors being alive didn't settle well with him.
"You okay, Uncle Gregory?" You go to put your hand on his shoulder, but you stop when he looks at you with a face full of irritation.
"No, I'm not." He runs his hand through his thinning grey hair, "The saviors are still alive and we have two people here from Alexandria that helped in killing the saviors and we need them gone as soon as Margaret wakes up."
"You mean Maggie?" He looks at you with a furious look, out of instinct you back away and blurt out, "She got out of the medical trailer today, she's at the graves now."
He huffs and quickly starts to make his way over to the graves.
. . .
You sit on the steps just inside the front door of the Barrington House as you eat an apple, when your Uncle Gregory huffs through the door. He quickly closes himself in his office as Jesus rushes through the door. Jesus stops outside of the office doors and hold his hand up as thought he is going to knock. But he reluctantly puts his hand down and turns to face you.
You wipe the juice from your apple off your face as you say; "What did he say this time?"
Jesus looks up at you, his face mixed with anger and disbelief. He manages to smile as he walks towards you and sits on the steps next to you.
"He doesn't want Maggie and Sasha to stay here." Jesus sighs as he rubs his face with his hands, "He would rather all of his problems, including me, leave with them before the saviors come back here."
You take another bite of your apple before you ask; "Has he pulled the I'm a good guy and the people here depend on me card yet?"
You hear Jesus snicker. "Yes, he has."
You take the last bite of your apple and stand up from the steps. "Then you know that he'll coware down eventually, just keep pushing."
Jesus smile and nods as you walk to the doors of Barrington House to take your apple core to the waste pile.
. . .
The sun starts to set and everyone in Hilltop starts to turn in for the night.
You love when everyone else is in their trailers or rooms, cause it lets you walk around Hilltop without having people look at you funny or others try to discreetly walk in another direction of you. Ever since Negan took your brother and demanded to talk to you every three months, no one in Hilltop has looked at you the same.
You find yourself in the back corner of Hilltop, where Sasha had buried Glenn and Abraham the day before. You didn't notice anyone around until you got a little closer and saw Maggie standing over Glenn's grave.
You haven't worked up the courage to talk to her yet. 'Glenn didn't like me so why would she?' Had been echoing through your head since you saw her come out of Carson's trailer.
"Who's there?" You hear Maggie ask, and you slowly take a few steps towards her.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to intrude."
"No," Maggie drops her gaze back down to Glenn's grave, "you're fine."
"I'm sorry for what happened to them-"
"Why are you sorry?" She wipes a year as it rolls down her cheek, "You didnt have anything to do with this."
"You might be right." You eyes fall to the graves, "But I'm still sorry for your loss."
You turn and walk away as Maggie quietly say, "Thank you."
