~A/N~

Hey, everyone, I am sorry it has been so long since I last uploaded a chapter. I have had some serious writer's block, but I promise I will upload more this month and next.

I hope you like the chapter.

All the Love.

You wake up with sunlight shining through the window and right onto your face. You move to face away from the window and find Daryl's sleeping face. He had came back to the house, that Rick was letting you and Jesus use almost a month ago, and had stayed with you.

Daryl slowly opens his eyes and makes eye contact with you. "Hello." He says with a small chuckle.

"Hi." You smile and move some of his hair out of his face.

You both lay in silence for a second, but soon Daryl sits up and turns to get out of bed. He tenses a little as your scabbed fingertips trace down one of the scars on his back. He turns back to look at you, to find you staring blankly at his torso.

"Are you scared?" You plainly ask.

He pulls his shirt on. "Ah what?"

"Of losing the people around you?"

Daryl turns back towards you as he pulls his jeans on. His face is full of confusion but he answers. "Everyone is scared of losin' the people that they care 'bout, but my people ain't easy to kill." He sits back down on the bed. "Why're ya askin'?"

You sit up and hold your knees to your chest. "If today goes wrong, I'll lose everyone." Your eyes start to water. "If Jesus and I make ourselves known Negan will kill Andy and then he'll turn his anger onto Hilltop and-"

"That's only if it goes wrong," Daryl rubs your back, "and this won't."

Knock. Knock.

"Get up you two, someone just pulled into Alexandria." Jesus says through the door.

Jesus, Daryl, and you walk out of the house that's on the first street of Alexandria and watch as an RV, bicyclists, and three trash trucks come through the gate. They park on the same street as the house and a bunch of people starts climbing out of the trash trucks.

"These are the people Rick made a deal with?" You blirt out.

You can feel Jesus' glare even before he says, "Everyone adapted to the end of the world differently, don't judge them."

You just give him a wide-eyed look.

"Daryl!" Rick hollers from down the street. "Jesus!" He waves at them. "Let's go!"

You take a step back towards the front door but you start taking grudging steps forward as Daryl leads you forward with a hand on your lower back.

When you, Jesus, and Daryl get over to where Rick is, he's giving everyone different jobs and ordering everyone around. Rick looks over everyone around him to see Daryl and he walks towards him.

"Daryl, I need you to go outside the wall and help Rosita with the explosives."

"Alright." Daryl nods to Rick then glances at you with a smile and runs off.

"Jesus, you take one of our cars to Hilltop and get everyone there to help."

Jesus nods and walks away.

"What about me?" You ask, ready to help.

Rick slightly glares at you, then says; "Go with Jesus, you can't be seen here."

You open your mouth to protest, but you feel a hand on your shoulder.

"Come on, (Y/N)," Jesus says as you turn, "we'll get back before the fighting is over."

"Fine." Is all you say as you and Jesus start to walk towards the car sitting just inside the gate.

. . .

(Sanctuary)

Andy quickly sits up with his eyes wide open, his vision fuzzes a little as he does so. He raises his hands to his head and finds bandaging wrapped around it. He presses slightly on the bandage which makes his head start to pound. As he pulls his left hand away to find blood on his fingertips.

"Negan hit you pretty hard." Andy looks to the doorway to find Harlan. "Only one hit though, so just a fracture and some bleeding."

"How long have I been out?" Andy asks as he shifts to sit on the side of the bed.

"Only a day." Harlan rushes over to him and pushes on Andy's chest to keep him on the bed. "Don't try to stand."

Bang. Bang. Bang. Andy winces as he looks over at the door. He blinks a couple of times as his eyes try to focus on who's at the door.

"Hey, Andy." Dwight says as he walks into the room. "I just came to see how you're doing."

"Liar." Andy smirks. "How did your plan go?"

Harlan looks between the two of them and takes note of Dwight's wide eyes. "I'm going to go get Andy some pain killers." He walks out of the room and closes the door behind him.

Dwight let's out a breath he seemed to be holding. "What'd you say that for?"

"Harlan is harmless, plus he's from Hilltop, he's not going to run to Negan." Andy says through the pounding in his head.

"Whatever." Dwight shrugged it off. "Listen," he puts his hand on Andy's shoulder, "I have a message from your sister."
