This August, we bring you The Story of Tinkerbell, by Elizabeth Roderick.
The story is ranked as mature.
Grace Rogers is on the brink of her life going downhill. She's in her twenties with a serious drug abuse problem. And she has turned to a life of crime to be able to provide for herself.
It's the year 1999, and Grace gets herself involved in a shady drug deal in which she earns herself a new nickname: Tinkerbell.
As soon as you begin reading, you are faced with the main character's situation. And as the book progresses, that is where the story unfolds.
The story of Tinkerbell is a blistering, deep and provocative short read that is heartbreaking yet realistic. It puts us directly into the head of a bright young woman who graduated from high school as a member of the honor society, and how come she was embroiled in a life full of drugs and toxic relationships.
It's a story that's heartbreaking yet realistic with a good message about redemption and reminding us that sometimes you can only find Heaven by slowly backing away from Hell.
