Chapter 15: The Battle Part One

           The first thing Adrien noticed was the empty doorway. His stomach dropped as he looked at the door. It was off its hinges, laying flat on the ground broken. Random pieces of wood surrounding it, ranging from big to small. He stepped forward inspecting it, to see a fist like shape in the middle. When he heard voices coming from within the building. Putting a finger upon his mouth and turned around, a gesture meaning be silent. Slowly inching forward as to not make a sound, Adrien entered the building. Nino by Adrien's side, his shield at the ready.

            "Now what will it be?" Reverse Ladybug inquired raising an eyebrow, eager to hear his choice.

            "Don't give it to them, Master Fu!" Mrs. Agreste shouted before a hand clamped upon her mouth, muffling her words.

             "That wasn't a wise decision Mrs. Agreste," Chat whispered into her ear. Carefully making sure to keep his other hand at a far enough distance.

             Hesitating Master Fu looked at the record player then Emilie Agreste, who was struggling in the chair.

            A fearful tear slid down her cheek as Emilie looked at the coal black bubbles emitting from Chat's other hand. Looking at Master Fu she shook her head no, her blonde locks swaying with the motion of the turn.

        When all of a sudden Chat's ears perked up, "M'lady. We have company."

            Turning around the corner, Adrien froze. His eyes trailed to his mother, seeing a cord trapping her to a chair. Slowly looking up, he saw lime green orbs staring at him with curiosity.

              Reverse Ladybug turned her attention to the intruder in the room and greeted him, a wicked grin on her face. "Oh bonjour. Welcome to the party, superhero."

           "What are you doing?" Adrien demanded, he looked at the black bubbles coming from Chat's palm. His face paled realizing how close it was to his mom.

           "A bargain with the Guardian here," Reverse Ladybug replied nonchalantly. She licked her lips and smiled showing off her pearly white teeth.

            "Why does my mother have to be involved?" Adrien said, gritting his teeth. He glared at this new version of Ladybug that his father had thought up. She was like the exact opposite of his princess.

            "She just happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time," Reverse Ladybug replied blinking her eyes innocently. Flipping a strand of midnight black hair behind her shoulder, and stared at him with piercing dark blue eyes. "Now where is the rest of your friends? Wouldn't want them to miss out on this amazing gathering," she sarcastically said. Leaning sideways she peered at the rest of the superhero group, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

           Meeting the villian's gaze, Rena Rouge felt a rush of adrenaline pump through her veins. After whispering something to Viperion, she brought the flute up to her lips and blew. A sweet melody echoed throughout the building at the same time the lights went dark.

              Moments had past when the lights flickered on, bathing the room in a soft yellow glow. Eyes adjusting to the new amount of light, Multimouse looked around the room. Landing on Rena Rouge noticing she and Viperion were standing in a different place. Raising an eyebrow after noticing they were out of breath, huffing and puffing.

                   Lifting a finger to his mouth, Viperion signalled to keep quiet. Stealthily sharing a nod with Rena; he then glanced down at his bracelet, masking his nervousness perfectly. He raised his head, locks of turquoise hair falling into his face. Glaring at Reverse Ladybug, he turned his attention to Master Fu and shouted, "don't give the box to them!"

             Snapping her head towards him, Reverse Ladybug began to chuckle darkly. "How can you not know the situation at hand? What my dear Chat's Cataclysm could do to her..."

              Master Fu carefully looked at Viperion, hopelessness showing in his eyes. He looked at Mrs. Agreste seeing her real eyes glassy with unshed tears. When he did a double take, weren't her eyes a bright green? He peered at Rena Rouge through the corner of his eye, watching as she mouthed 'trust us.' Confusion shown on his face, when suddenly he realized the plan and it clicked. Raising his voice loud and clear, "I will never give the Miracle box to you."

               "Well then... if that's your choice," Reverse Ladybug stated. She raised her arm, and looked at her hand inspecting the cuticles of her perfectly manicured nails. Lifting her head meeting Master Fu's hard stare, "then there's no need for Mama Agreste, is there? Chat-" she glanced at her partner who was dressed in black, "you know what to do."

         "Gladly M'Lady," Chat replied. He leaned forward and whispered, "sorry Mrs. Agreste. No hard feelings right? It's just business." Using his one hand; the black substance radiating, he tapped her shoulder. "You know I've always wondered what would happen if I used my Cataclysm on a person." (Disclaimer: I used this from the show).

                The eerily black magic swept over Adrien's mother, crawling on her skin and clothes. Mrs. Agreste took a glance at Adrien, letting the tears fall from her eyes. When her eyes went wide, and her body turned a dark ash gray.

                    Removing his hand, Chat watched as Mrs. Agreste crumbled to dust. He stood back and looked down at his hands, then at his partner with a wide stare.

                   Sadness at the loss of his mother billowed within Multimouse, when it slowly turned to anger. "You both are monsters," he spat. With an angry warcry and fury clouding his judgement, he rushed forward and planted his fist onto Chat's cheek only to hit air. Stumbling back Multimouse looked at the space where Chat stood only to find the chair his mother was in, on its side.

           Reverse Ladybug turned towards Rena Rouge, her eyes flashing red. Slamming Rena against the wall sneering, "what did you do to my partner?!"

              Rena Rouge smirked, "we just knocked him out is all." Using both of her arms she shoved Reverse Ladybug off her making the villian fume. Narrowing her eyes Rena glared at the person before her, "if you can't take it. Don't dish it." She walked towards Carapace, standing besides him, Rena crossed her arms. "Now if you don't mind, hand your miraculous over or we will forcefully take it from you."

              Reverse Ladybug scowled at Rena before erupting in a fit of laughter. "You really think I wouldn't be able to take all of you? A bunch of amateur superheroes? Who after one use of your special power has exactly five minutes before turning back to their civilian form? It will be so easy knocking all you little superheroes out. Just because you have a lot of members on your team. Doesn't. Mean. Nothing."

                 Rose shared a wary look with Tigeress. Her light blue eyes held a moment of fear, before she set her jaw trying to be brave.

               Reverse Ladybug chuckled before continuing, "and I presume some of you just got your powers. Still learning how all this works and getting it down, huh?" Her eyes wandered over Paris's new superheroes. "You are all basically new born giraffes- learning how to walk. Defeating you will be a piece of cake." With that she surged forward swinging her yo-yo.
