RIALLA WOKE UP WHEN her body hit the familiar fur that covered her bed. "Sorry, Ria, I didn't mean to wake you."

Sokka stood at the edge of her bed with an apologetic smile and tired eyes. The waterbender murmured a soft 'it's okay' before she was consumed by a dreamless sleep once again. Sokka smiled softly at his cousin and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, tucking the blankets around her body.

By the time Rialla woke up again, it was because of a loud bang and Sokka's voice screaming out, "My watchtower!"

The girl sat up and rubbed the sleepiness from her eyes. "What now?"

Stepping out of her igloo, she was met with the sight of Sokka patting the watchtower with the hope that he could save it from collapsing any further. Rialla giggled softly as she walked to Katara and Aang, shaking her head at Sokka's antics. Sokka huffed, "Great. You're an airbender. Katara's a waterbender. Together, you can just waste time all day long."

Sokka wedged himself out from underneath the weight of the snow that fell on him. Aang looked at the youngest sibling in surprise. "You're a waterbender?"

"Well, sort of," Katara said, gazing nervously over at her cousin, who urged her to tell him. "Not yet."

Gran-Gran stepped beside Rialla and placed her hands on her shoulders. "All right, no more playing." Her gaze turned to Katara, and she squeezed Rialla. "You two have chores."

Rialla smiled softly at the airbender, and he returned it with an even brighter smile. Kanna led them away from the forming group around Aang, and Katara clapped her hands together excitedly. "I told you, he's the real thing, Gran-Gran! I finally found a bender to teach me and Ria!"

"Katara, try not to put all your hopes in this boy," Gran-Gran said calmly, and the eldest of the two understood where their grandmother was coming from. He was just a boy. A boy who clearly was locked away from society for who knows how long in an iceberg. A freaking iceberg! Rialla still couldn't really get over that. How the hell was he still alive? How did he not freeze to death?

"But he's special! I can tell." She clenched her fist and closed her eyes, and Rialla laid a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I sense he's filled with much wisdom."

Rialla shook her head and looked over her shoulder to glance at the boy as he smiled while his tongue was stuck to his staff. "Maybe deep, deep down inside."

RIALLA MADE HER WAY to Sokka once she was done with her chores. The boy was yelling at the children of the tribe as all of the kids were moving back and forth like they had to go to the bathroom. "But I really gotta go!"
