Ghost in My Head

Ruled for a long time,
Prohibited and tied,
Governed by my fears,
Horrified by despair.

Strangled with unseen rope.
I barely breath, I lose hope.
Striving to cope;
With my chest opened by wounds.

This ghost that follows me;
Never let me go to sleep.
A shadow that as black as grotesque;
Always whispering I shouldn't live.

I knew it is always there.
Swaying like a curtain, lurking in my nightmares.
Killing my faith, my hope and courage;
When will this horror be dead?

I called for help and shout.
But people seem to ignore.
Saying I must be blunt.
No one knows I was sure.

I screamed with no voice.
I hid in a huge void.
I go under my blanket;
Yet the monster never left.

Never left to let me live.
Never gave a chance for me to rest.
Never did I feel secured;
In this life full of ghouls.
