Crystal's POV

Orodon has become a man and told the clan leader that he wishes to mate with me. Eytukan and Mo'at spoke to me privately, asking me how I feel about Orodon being my future mate. I told how I have been falling for him and would love to mate with him when I am a little older. Until then I'd like to court and get to know him more. So it was agreed Orodon and I would mate when I turn sixteen.

Speaking of age, I had my fourteenth birthday on the weekend. The Omaticaya throw me a bonfire and it was so much fun. We also celebrated mine and Uncle Jake's first  clean kills. While the scientists at base gave me a cake and sang happy birthday.

We've spent the last few days learning how to wrangle an ikran and subdue it long enough to make a bond. I'm nervous, but Orodon assures me I will be fine. He was thriteen when he got his ikran. That made me feel better. Along with the fact he and Uncle Jake will be present.

But Orodon won't be there for the journey to the Ikran nest as he is flying there with Neytiri on their ikrans. While Tsu'tey, Uncle Jake and I along with two other hunters getting their own ikran. On Pa'li for the first party of our journey. When we reach the floating mountains we dismounted and continue on foot.

Until we reach a dead end. "What now?" I ask confused.

"Kiva ko!" Tsu'tey says and jumps onto a passing vine. (Translation: lets go). He starts to climb. I look at my uncle as the other two hunters jump onto a vine each. He nods and we jump at the same time onto vines next to each other. We start to climb quickly to catch up to the others.

Uncle Jake leaped over the talons and tackles the Ikran by it's neck. He grabs its whip-like antenna and brings it toward his queue. But the ikran slams it's bony head into his, nearly knocking up. "Ka ka!" the two warriors cheer.

The ikran bucks wildly flinging him to the ground. He slides on the rock and almost goes over the edge. "Jake/Uncle!" Neytiri and I shout. He stands back up and tackles the ikran again. The claws rake his leg but he gets his arms around its head and clamps down hard. He gets the antenna again and manages to link it with his que.

The ikran stops struggling. It lies there panting. They are locked together, literally eye to eye. "That's right, you're mine" Uncle Jake says smiling. He removes the vine from the ikran's jaws and it sits up with him on it's back. Neytiri rushes over to Jake pushing him towards the cliff.

"First flight seals the bond, you can't wait. Think fly" she tells him.

"Fly" Uncle Jake says. The ikran shots off like a bullet. Making my uncle scream as he holds on tightly.

"Gilrin, you turn" Tsu'tey states before I could check on my uncle.

"Move breg ve ohe showed ngenga" Orodon tells me. (Translation: Move quick like I showed you). "Eywa ngahu luck" he adds and I smile. (Translation: good luck). I grab my vine and head out into the open. The first ikran I saw was red and it flew away. The second was black and hissed. But when I got closer it flew away.

I hear something thud behind me and turn to see an aqua coloured ikran with black markings. I hiss at her and she does not back down. We begin to circle each other. She lunges at me and I swing to one side dodging her snapping jaws. I wrap the vine around it's muzzle. Then jump onto it's back.

I hold on tight as she tries to buck me off. "Tsaheylu Gilrin! Tsaheylu!" Orodon shouts at me as the warriors cheer. (Translations: Bond Gilrin, bond). I nod my head and wrap my legs around the ikran's head. Holding it against it's neck freeing my hands. I grab the antenna closest to me and my que.

As I try to connect the two I lose concentration on my legs loosening my grip on the head. She pulls her head free and slams her head into me. Knocking me off and I land on the ground harshly. I shake my head to clear it. I look back at the ikran to see the vine coming loose around it's jaws as it swings it's head around.

I tackle it and wrap my legs around it's head again. Clamping it hard so as not to lose my grip again. I grab the antenna and my que. I contact them and the ikran stills as I sigh in relief. I let her stand up and direct her to the cliff. "Fly" I say and she takes off I grip her tightly. "Slow down and level out!" I shout as we spiral out of control.

She does so and I sigh in relief. I get into a better position and smile. Orodon appears signaling me to follow him. I do so and we join Uncle Jake. Who is with Neytiri. "Mana indome ngenga esse her?" Orodon asks me.

"Ava" I answer with a smile. Tsu'tey joins us with the other two hunters on their ikran. He has us fly in a triangle formation formation. I goof around with Orodon and I see Uncle Jake do the same with Neytiri. Tsu'tey scolds all four of us and I just smile at Orodon rolling my eyes. He chuckles. He convinces Tsu'tey to allow him to take me on a solo training flight.

So we leave the group. We fly around the mountains taking in the amazing view. Playing hide and seek, as well as splashing each other with water from the water falls. As the sun begins to set I follow Orodon back to home tree. We land gracefully and dismount. We head down to the ground level and join the tribe for dinner.
