I looked at him with my mouth hung open not saying a word. He smile became more awkward. I closed my mouth and smiled but not from happiness. "Lance listen, I like you a lot. But I need you to understand, that I'm broken. I've been so hurt by men in the past. I have trust issues. I can't say the l-word without something bad happening, I want to be with you, I really do. But I can't without hurting you." I said as he lifted me back to feet. I hurt him once more, I could feel it deep in my chest. It ached ever bit of my soul to not scream yes. But I want you to understand that you don't have to live the rules of some silly curse. I love you. I do. I don't care if you're broken, I'll piece you back together, shard by shard if it means your love. I would shoot myself in the head if it meant your love. What I'm trying to say is I'll do anything to make you believe that you are capable of love, and deserve so much." He looked at me with a whole-hearted half smile. I stared for a minute. Or two. Or three. Getting lost in his eyes deeper than any ocean. I cupped his cheeks and kissed him deeply and passionately. Expressing every thought I had of him, every feeling, every touch. I really loved this man and I will never understand why. He pulled away and looked me lovingly in the eyes and asked again "Y/N if you don't want to, you can say no, but I'm going to ask again. Will you be my girlfriend." I nodded with piercing tears threatening to fall down my porcelain face. He kissed me again, a small wave crashed over our unsheathed ankles sending a cold shiver up my spine. Lance came off as a flirt when I first met him but now I realize he's a simp. He's gentle yet passionate. We pulled away looking sharply in each other's eyes. Basking in each other's warmth. I was hesitant about what I was about to say but I believe nothing would happen except me expressing my feelings. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes and said
