Prove him innocent.

"Commander." 
"Halstead. Have a seat." He said
"I'll stand." I said
"All right, after shift last night, where were you?" He asked
"Home. Why?" I said and voight looked at me
"So you're telling us you didn't go out at all last night?" He asked
"I'm telling you that I watched the hawks game and I was in bed by midnight." I explained.

I looked at Hank.
"This was taken last night near broadview and Cicero." The commander said showing me a picture and I just looked at him. "The car's registered to Lonnie Rodiger. And that's you." He said pointing to the car "two cars behind." He continued.
"Okay, so I happened to be driving home behind a pedophile." I said

We all just looked at each other.
"Well, your alleged pedophile was found dead this morning, lafollette park." The commander said
"What?" I asked
"Someone tied a cord around his neck." Hank said and I just looked between the two.
" so I hope you have a better alibi than watching a hockey game." Commander said

"Alone." He added. I looked at hank.
" until this is straightened out, you're officially stripped." Hank said. I handed him my gun and badge.
"So expect a call from internal affairs. They're going to want to interview you as soon as possible." Commander said
" you mean an interrogation." I corrected
"You know how this works, son." He said and I walked out.

Brooke POV:

I saw Jay open the door and followed him.

"Jay."  I said
"I'm the one who tried to stop that freak. Now I'm the target." He said
"I know. Take this. It's the number for Dan Hanes. He's the best police union rep there is. You call him... and then you tell me how you want to handle this." I said
"This is unbelievable." He said and walked out.

Jay POV:

I made my way to the car not knowing when I would see my wife and team again. None of them could talk to me until the investigation was over. It's just how it goes.

"Told you to be careful, didn't I?" Antonio asked walking in
"I just got suspended." I said
"You're shocked? I'm the one who brought you into this unit."
"Tony, this wasn't me."
"I got to clock in. Go get yourself a lawyer right now and keep your mouth shut." He said and I just watched him walk inside. They're hands were tied. It was on me to figure this out.

Nobody POV:

We were all sitting and working a case.
"So we're not going to help him prove him innocent?" Adam asked and we all looked at him.
"Look, Jay got himself in this mess. He needs to figure him out of it or maybe he doesn't belong in this unit." Hank said looking at me.

Jay POV:

I went to my ex's parents' house. We were eating and when his wife walked away I explained everything.
"Jay, as many times as I have dreamt of it. I never did it. But if you need me to say I did to get you off the hook I will. You have done enough for this family." He said and I didn't say anything. I eventually left.

Brooke POV:

I walked up to Kim.
"Hey can I stay at your house tonight? I can't stay with Jay until this is all over and don't really feel like listening to Hank give a speech about it." I said
"You didn't even have to ask." She said and I smirked.

Later...

Jay POV:

I walked into a bar and Lonnie's father was there.
"Why'd you do it?" I asked
"Oh my god. Don't you know when to leave a person alone." He said
"The report said he never came home but I was following him that night and I know for a fact he did go home. So what happened." I said. After a few seconds he broke.
"He was sick! Okay! He was sick. I found more pictures and videos on his laptop. Same age as the other boy. So.. I choked him." He admitted. He broke down.

Nobody POV:

"I heard they brought in Rodiger's father." Antonio said voight and he nodded. Brooke was in the questioning room with Jay.

"How did you kill Lonnie?" She asked
"We fought. I picked up a belt... and I kept choking him."
"And then you dropped his body in the park." Brooke added and he cried. That was all Jay needed to hear. He walked out.

Jay POV:

" hey, good to have you back." Antonio said
" these are yours." Voight said handing me the gun and badge.
"We all going for a drink?" Adam asked and Brooke looked at me.
"No, I got someplace I gotta be." I said and started to walk out.
"Hey. I never doubted you for a second, bro." Jin said and I just kept walking.

I drove to the cemetery with a beer in my hand and just drank alongside the young boy's head stone.
