Chapter 1

Natalie P.O.V

"Mommy I don't wanna go!"

"Honey were gonna be late to your first day of preschool. Don't you want to learn new things and have friends?"

"No I already have enough friends." I said.

"I meant real people not teddy bears!
Now wait here while I go upstairs and grab my purse. I'll be right back!"

With that my mom left me sitting alone in the kitchen counter while she ran up stairs. I didn't want to go to school, I mean who did? I was just a 5 year old who wanted to stay home and have tea parties with her big collection of teddy bears.

After a few minutes my mom came running  down the stairs with her purse and phone in her hand.

"Now we can go."

She said before carrying me by her waist and walking towards the garage where she parked her car.

She placed me in the backseat and in my kid seat before she spoke.

"Come on Natalie its gonna be fun!"

I stayed quiet and waited for this car ride to be over.

My mom parked outside the big building and unbuckled me from my seat.

I had my small princess backpack and walked towards the big stairs in front of the school that lead to the main office.

My mom held my hand while she talked to the women behind a big desk. Suddenly the women behind the desk turned to look at me.

"Hi sweetie! My name is Miss.Norma I will be walking you to your class room. Why don't you say goodbye to your mommy now so we can head over there?"
She asked enthusiastically.

I just nodded

"Don't worry Natalie everything will be okay. I love you and I'll see you in the afternoon."

My mom kissed my forehead and gave my hand to Miss Norma who grabbed it and started to walk outside the main office.

I was scared so I held her hand tight. When we stopped walking we were standing in front of a door with many names. I guess they were probably the names of the kids that were behind the door.

"Now honey don't be afraid there are just a bunch of kids in there." Miss. Norma said to me.

I nodded again and sighed.

Miss.Norma knocked on the door and    a very happy women answered the door. She stared at me before speaking.

"You must be Natalie! We have been waiting for you. The children are just playing so go inside and just play with whatever you want. My name is Miss. Q "

She turned towards Miss.Norma and started talking. I took this chance and shook my hand away from Miss Norma and walked into the big room full of children playing around.

When something caught my eye. There was a boy with curly brown hair playing alone with a bunch of fluffy teddy bears his back was towards me so he couldn't see me . I walked towards him while leaving my backpack in the floor on the way there.

He was wearing the school uniform just like I was. But, instead of the jumper I was wearing he was wearing some khakis with the school sweater.

"Hi" I said.

He looked at me and smiled before saying

"Hi."
I stayed  quite not really knowing what to say.

"You wanna play with me?" He said

"Sure!" I said

"So what's your name?" He asked

"My name is natalie-" he cut me off

"Nat sounds better! Im gonna call you that!"

" Ok? What's your name then?" I asked.
