y/n's pov;

i've been dating josh for a year, and i truly love him with all my heart, but this whole relationship i guess you can say has been 'incognito'.
wherever we go we have to dress differently or cover part of our faces, especially if it's a popular area. but we tend to stay away from them.

it's not been easy to say the least, and after a whole ass year i thought it would be a bit different but it's not. he loves me i know he does but it's difficult keeping the relationship strong when we can't even go to a hotel for the night unless i go like an hour before him and sneak him in round the back, and he still ended up getting spotted so we gave up on that.

i saw the front door open and it was joshua

"hey babe i'm back" he said walking to the kitchen counter putting the bags down.. oh that's another thing, we can't even go food shopping together!

"how was it" i asked walking to him
"yeah same as always" he smiled and came to me for a hug, of course i hugged back
"oh i couldn't find them crackers you wanted and they had a few other similar ones but i didn't wanna choose the wrong ones so i left it" he said as we unpacked the shopping
"oh okay no worries" you smiled "would be so easy if i could come with you cause we always have problems like this" you said with not much emotion
"i know baby" he gave a weak smile

you put the last few bits away and went to the sofa,  you were scrolling through instagram till you got a message from your best friend sophie

soph: omg babe! did you see

all over twitter😫
   
you: what no!!!

fuck.

you jumped straight to twitter to see everyone freaking out about joshua "supposed" new girlfriend.

"ummm josh" i stood up and ran to the kitchen

"what" he said looking worried, i handed him my phone and his face dropped.. "no no no" he whispered and started pacing "how the fuck did this happen we've literally not left the house together in months!" he put the phone down
"i don't know joshy" i said looking at him
"i'm gonna have to right a tweet or something and say it's not true" he grabbed his phone out of his pocket, hearing that hurt my heart, i know he didn't want it out there yet but now it is why pretend.
"you don't have to josh, maybe it's time to just admit it" i said calmly
"what do you mean y/n! we can't have this out there" he said almost shouting
"okay sorry i was just suggesting, i don't know why it's such a bad thing though, are you embarrassed by me?" i asked genuinely wondering
"no of course i'm not" he laughed at you "i just want us to keep it private for as long as possible" he said
"but we still can babe, if we just posted one photo and admitted it then we could keep it all off social media and then at least we can go out together and do stuff" i suggested again
"no" is all he said so i walked into our bedroom and slammed the door.

i heard a sigh and footsteps approaching

*knock knock*

"y/n babe open the door" he said, i ignored him, he tried a couple more times before giving up

*2 hours later*

wtf is going on! i grabbed my phone to see hundreds on instagram and twitter notifications

oh no

i went on instagram to see joshua had posted a picture of me and him kissing on the beach with the caption "yes❤️"

thousands of comments were so supportive, same with tweets, obviously some were negative but i didn't bother me.

i unlocked the door and walked out to see joshua sitting on the sofa watching tv

"you did it" i said keeping my head down, he stood up and came over to me engulfing me into a huge hug i looked up at him and smiled, he smiled back and said..

"no paparazzi or fans should stop be from being happy with the girl i love"
