Jacob Devine dropped the magazine he was reading and fell deep into his thoughts. Since the weekend that they arrived at the hotel, he hadn't seen Bella and it was obvious she was avoiding him. It was already Wednesday and she hadn't come to report anything to him since his flight landed here; didn't she think an explanation was demanded at this point in time? Even though he had acted like he was flirting around with her, her actions didn't depict a professional lady. The thought made him frown a little but a smirk quickly replaced it, she wasn't getting off so easily. It had been awhile he had seen her beautiful face so he left his room set on finding her.

Meanwhile Bella was in the middle of watching a romance movie on her phone when a knock came on her door. Instinctively walking to the door without much cover-up, she turned the handle and opened the door. Her face paled off and her hands tightened on the knob while the figure outside had a full smile plastered on his face, after a brief second she slammed the door shut and stood with her back against the door.

Her heart was racing quickly and she struggled to control her breathing - room service or one of the hotel staffs was what she had expected but his presence was totally unexpected. Her eyes trailed down her body and she bit down on her lips. She wasn't even properly dressed but hoped he hadn't seen anything. Plopping down a shirt and trouser, she braced herself and opened the door but words got caught in her throat as she stood at the door.

"Are you going to stand there like a porclein doll and continue staring at me?" his deep voice spoke out jolting her out of her trance. Her face flushed red and she bent her face in embarrassment. Why the hell did this guy make her disoriented?

"Goodmorning Mr Devine..... Umm, sorry Jacob" she stammered.

"Won't you let me come in?" He arched his eyebrows looking at her with a terrifying gaze.

Then Bella stepped back giving him access to come in while she did a mental slap to herself in her head. Not only had she acted dumbly, she had also left her guest standing outside and behaved foolish when she slammed the door on him. Rubbing her creased forehead, she closed the door slowly and turned around. Today wasn't her lucky day.

"You have a nice room Bella" he complimented with a naughty gleam lingering in his eyes. The effect caused goosebumps to break out on her body.

"Thank you" she mummured. There was an awkward silence in the room before she spoke up.

"How did you find my room?" She asked breaking the silence. An amused smile filled his face as he stared at the woman standing in front of him. What a dumb question to ask.

"Are you supposed to be asking that? Seriously Bella?"

"Why not? You're not supposed to be here and -"

Jacob stood up looking flabbergasted. "Says who?"he interrupted. "Aren't you supposed to be my personal assistant... Bella Andrews right?"
The tone he used to address her carried a tinge of anger in it.

"Well, I'm your personal assistant not your nanny or babysitter so I deserve a bit of privacy" she responded in an attempt to back herself, trying her best to maintain a straight face. The anger in the voice he used to address her was evident making her heart skip, she took a step back to avoid him coming close.

"Hmph! A bit of privacy?" He repeated with his lips curling up in a mocking smile. "You are my personal assistant and you are supposed to report to me about my schedules. What if I had an important meeting that required my attention and I was absent, wouldn't that be your fault? Do you have any professionalism at all?"

"I was - "

"And you're still asking how the fuck I found your room?" his voice came out again scolding her. "I wonder if it would be bad if I lodge a complaint at the next board meeting. I don't know if you really have the abilities to be my P.A" he finished running his eyes down her body. Bella flushed even more, he was right; she hadn't acted professional at all.

"I'm sorry Jacob but I would love to correct that statement of yours. I'm definitely capable of doing my job if not I wouldn't have been taken by the company".

"Save the apologies dear but I want to ask- did you refuse to come because you were busy or you were avoiding me?"

The question threw her off balance making her words clog in her throat as she struggled to reply back.

"I... I was sort of.." she stammered.

"You can't even answer my question with a straight face with out stuttering. If you are so serious about your job, you can apply for change of your boss and you know that. Don't stress yourself and act this way in front of another person, the result might not be this nice".

Bella gulped and averted her gaze to the flower vase sitting on the chest of drawers beside her. Her fists were curled up and white due to the presence she had applied on them, her long eyelashes were down so he wouldn't see the hurt building up in her eyes. If he continued attacking her at this rate without giving her space to talk, she would break down in front of him; something she never wanted to do in his sight.

"I hate women who think too high of themselves, it pisses me off." He spoke up standing up from the bed and walking to the door. "Forward my schedule to me and any other relevant information I need"

"I'll do that right away but Jacob - "
Her sentence was cut off by the slamming of the door. He had walked out on her. Not only had he hinted she was proud, he insinuated she could leave working with him at the moment. Grabbing a pillow, she buried her face and vented her anger on it.

Meanwhile Jacob was pacing around in his room. Were women so stupid and dumb? He definitely hated when women took his gestures as a platform to act rude to him. She was supposed to brief him of his schedule daily but the peacock was thinking he had come to find her because he wanted to flirt with her or bed her.

Useless creatures. He cursed. Speaking of bedding, he recalled he hasn't visited any club or had a hookup with any lady lately so he rushed to the bathroom for a quick shower and dressed up soon after that. If Bella thought she was too gorgeous, she could drive to hell and rot away. He thought as he exited his room.
