CHAPTER 4

"Hi classmate!"

Nagulat ako nang may umakbay sa balikat ko. Ngiting-ngiti siya habang nakapamulsa ang isang kamay at nakatingin sa pangalan ng corner na kinatatayuan namin.

11 ABM 1 Heliocentric

I stared at it and unconsciously smiled.

ABM....

Since I was young, nakikita ko na sila Mommy at Daddy na maghandle ng iba't ibang businesses. Naiinspire ako mula pa noon dahil nakikita ko 'yung dedication nila sa work at 'yung passion nila sa profession na ganito. The way they talk to other people, sobrang nakakabilib especially kapag business-related matters. They always dress formally as well. Sobrang presentable nila tignan lalo kapag naka formal attire or even kahit casual lang. Noon pa lang, sinabi ko na sa sarili ko na alam ko na ito rin ang gusto kong gawin paglaki ko.

My parents did not force me to pursue ABM. It was my choice. I could still remember when my dad said...

'You are your own manager, anak. People around you were here to help you... or maybe to mess up with you in order to distinguish what you really want to be. They can be your inspiration, motivators, mentors... or even the ones who will pull you down during the process. You can listen to their suggestions but learn to listen to your heart also. In the end, you are still the decision maker of your life; and your decision is the outcome of your best choice.'

And as of now, I guess this is the best choice I have made. A choice that tells me that I came up with the right decision. Hindi nila ako pinilit dahil ako 'yung mismong pumili.

It is what my heart really desires,

A passion that runs in our blood,

And indeed a legacy to continue.

"Paano ba 'yan? Magkaklase nga tayo, Sol" natatawang sabi ni Yael saka bahagyang itinaas ang kamay na nasa balikat ko, iniabot niya naman iyon sa gilid ng mukha ko upang marahang kurutin ang pisngi ko. "Uy, siopao" patuloy pa rin siya sa pagpisil-pisil doon. "Classmate kong siopao siopao"

"Yael, isa!" banta ko. Panay ang iwas at iling ko ngunit dahil nakapatong pa rin ang braso niya sa likuran ko ay para pa rin siyang nakaakbay habang kumukurot.Di ako makapalag.  Ano ba?!

Agad niya rin namang tinigilan iyon at iniakbay na lamang muli ang buong braso sa aking balikat. I gave him an irritated glance. I made sure that my eyes were showing him a terrifying warn. He was just biting the insides of his cheeks to stop himself from laughing. Tinignan niya lang ako sa gilid ng kanyang mga mata while raising his eyebrows. He was playing innocent. He even mouthed the word 'siopao' to annoy me once again.

That another irritating move was the hint for me to punch him softly on his cheek. I even rolled my eyes pero tinawanan niya lang ulit ako. I was used to it. Lagi naman kaming ganito kasi nature niya na yata talaga ang mang-asar. Nature na ng Galactica ang mag-asaran. Sa huli ay nagtawanan na lang din kaming dalawa.

Grabe. Mabuti na nga lang talaga't kaklase ko 'to kahit  medyo bwisit.
