It's May 17 the day I've been dreading. Just four months ago the day seemed so far away. It was as if the clock sped up and the days flew.
I have always been a major procrastinator. My family and friends know to tell me their plans ahead of time so I can mentally prepare myself. If you say we're meeting at 1 PM you bet I'm showing up at 1:30! I call it being fashionably late.
I just honestly can't believe I'm going back. I talked to the teacher and asked her if Sarah and I could leave the group for part of the trip to visit my hometown and she agreed as long as we had parental permission.
Currently all I have to do is get my luggage together and go pick Sarah up from her house since my dad was going to drop us off at the John F. Kennedy International Airport.
We were given the instructions of arriving at our gate an hour before our flight to make sure we were all present and had everything we needed.
I'm still at a loss of words that of all places we could go for our Senior Trip it had to be London, England.
I never thought I'd go back after having my heart broken.
To this day I sit back and question what it is I did wrong to make him feel the way he did. What did I ever do that caused him to hate me so much that he had to cut all ties with me. I mean a I know I left him without any sort of notice, but it wasn't my fault I had no say in whether I could've stayed or not.
Back in London, the people were well aware that Nix loved to sing. He always talked about being on tv and becoming famous for doing what he loved the most. Singing at the coffee shop we used to go to after school for the incoming and going customers. We all encouraged him to pursue his musical career but that boy sure had his doubts.
It wasn't long after I left that he sent me a message with the words "I'm doing it... I'm actually doing it!!! I'm going to X-Factor!" After that, I heard nothing from him up until that day when he called and said "I don't want to talk to you anymore. Bye."
From then on I've only seen him on tv, just as he had imagined and dreamed of.
It's quite ironic how my dad is actually the architect behind the Record company's construction and is actually really close friends with Parker Paxton the CEO.
Sarah doesn't know I used to be both the best of friends and neighbor to the infamous "Atticus Knight". He apparently chose to go by his middle name and reserved his actual name Phoenix for people he knew personally.
I chose not to disclose that information with her, simply telling her that I had a falling out with my best friend back home due to distance.
Another reason being that Sarah is an obsessed fan of Atticus Knight, and she'd no doubt murder me alive for witholding this "valuable" information from her as she would put it.
I walked out of my room and walked down the stairs where my dad was waiting at the door with one of his killer smiles that never fails to make me smile. "Come on Ellie we have to go. We still have to pick up Sarah and lord knows the amount of luggage she's taking." I just smiled in response.
I've always been a daddy's girl. I guess you're wondering "where's your mom?" well she had to fly to Los Angeles for a meeting on short notice last night.
We drove to Sarah's house which was pretty close to the airport and decided to visit one of the many ATM's located throughout the airport. My dad had made sure he checked my debit card balance and provided me with some cash to be used for emergencies.
After stopping by an ATM we realized we weren't on the International Departing side of the Airport. By the time we arrived at our gate it was time to board the plane.
My dad had said his goodbyes and wished us safe travels. While walking to our seats I overheard some girls saying that Atticus was actually in London with his band for a 6 month break where they had scheduled some interviews and what not.
Thinking to myself how I seriously hope I don't somehow run into them with Phoenix being a member and all. I wasn't ready to come to terms with our messed up relationship.
After listening to the captain introduce himself and explain the flight plan, I decided it was best for me to catch up on sleep to kill time.
The flight was 10 hours long with one connecting flight from Dublin, Ireland to Heathrow Airport in London.
After sitting in position for 10 hours with the exception of changing planes, I was never more excited to hear "please fasten your seatbelts in preparation of landing. The weather is quite cool in London at the moment at 72 degrees Fahrenheit or approximately 22 degrees Celsius. Thank You for flying with JetBlue."
Preparing myself mentally I tried to convince myself that there was no way I'd run into the boy. Surely London was big enough for them to distance themselves. I mean they were famous and had teenage girls after them, they wouldn't be out in the public... right?
That being said she waited to get off the plane and head off to their chosen hotel.
