Grace sat alone by the campfire, staring into the orange flames as she remembered everything that had been faced in the past, from her joining the gang up until the Braithwaite manor incident

Her head lifted as she heard the rattle of spurs as someone approached, causing her to turn back and notice as a Javier walked up to her

"Hola hermosa" greeted Javier as he walked up to her

"Still don't understand spanish" chuckled Grace as she stood up to face him and dusted off her shoudler

"Maybe I could teach you spanish, might help take your mind off of things" he offered before glancing back to the horses "but first maybe a drink? I thought you might want to check out the saloons in a big city and see if they live up to their name while we're here"

Grace snickered as the two made their way over to the hitching posts "you know me too well, it'll be good to finally get a good drink in"

"God help whoever keeps you away from a decent beer" Javier remarked as they approached their mounts and climbed up to the saddle, Grace shifting in it a bit to balance herself before they rode out of Shady Belle

Javier lead Grace along the pathway across the train track before joining the main road that lead them to Saint Denis, glancing back to make sure she was still there before she ended up riding forwards to his side

"So, how are you feeling?" Javier asked as he watched her take in the surroundings

Grace turned to look at Javier and gave a small shrug "still hasn't fully set in yet I suppose.." she shook her head and scoffed "I don't know, I guess I still haven't accepted the fact that he's.. well... yeah..." she lied before turning her head back to the road "either way I'm fine, nothings wrong and I'll be even more fine after a decent drink"

Javier watched her silently for a moment before sighing and turning his attention to the bridge ahead "well just remember, me and the others at camp will always be there to talk if you need to"

"I know." Grace murmured as she listened to their horses hooves thud against the bridge's wood, lifting her chin to take in the smog above the city

Javier looked up as well and felt a knot in his stomach towards what the future would hold in store if the big city were truly a prime example of what society was turning into

"I think I prefer the swamps over this." He remarked bitterly as Grace murmured in agreement, the two riding in the direction of the saloon, making sure to steer clear of people walking since they seemed to act more sensitive than ones in small towns

Once the saloon came into their sight the two pulled over to the side of their horse and hitched them to the poles on the edge of the sidewalk

Grace and Javier shared a quick glance before entering the saloon, looking around at the patrons, immidiantly realizing how wealthy they all were, a self conscious feeling embedding itself in the two as they looked half dead while making their way to the bar

"Well don't you two just look the part" remarked the bartender as he approached the two from the other side while cleaning a glass "what do I need to getcha?"

"I'll have a beer." Murmured Grace as she made herself comfortable leaning on the bar

"And I'll take a whiskey" added Javier as he rested his elbow on the bar
