Grace walked out of the house, dropping her arms off the doors and adjusting her bandana before spotting Javier and jogging over to the hitching posts where he conveniently moved Jenny over to he beside Boaz

"ok now you're defenitly up to something" remarked Grace with a chuckle as she climbed up onto Jenny's saddle, raising an eyebrow as Javier looked over to her

"you have anything to eat at the party?" he asked

"apart from the sense of overwhelming boredom knawing at my stomach, no" she answered jokingly, causing Javier to give a smile "good, that'll mean I didn't bug Mr. Pearson for no reason"

Grace chuckled and followed Javier out of camp, keeping close to him over her fear of the swamps at night "God, if you wanted to go out on a ride we could've just gone in the morning where we aren't being hunted by alligators and night folk"

Javier noticied her uncomfort and glanced back, giving a comofrtingly smile "Don't worry mi toda, I'll protect you"

Grace gave him a smile in return before he lead her away, turing towards the road that lead to the old camp, causing Grace to relax a bit as they exited the swamp

"how about we take a little rest at the old camp, eh?" Javier offered

"there is literally no excuse to say you have nothing planned" Grace remarked as they turned down the road

"perhaps there is no excuse" Javier replied slyly as he moved aside on the road, Grace taking the lead before she gave a small gasp

"you little fuc-" she cut herself off as she was staring at a little setup he had, a small blanket layed out with a candle in the middle, a small rose laying there along with a couple of bowls of food, a boat sitting on the edge of the water with his guitar setting safety inside

"surprise, it's a date" Javier beamed as he discounted Boaz, Grace doing the same as she followed him over

"how long did this take you to plan?" Grace asked in awe as she looked at the view of the lake

"since we got Jack back, I wanted to cheer you up so I decided why not do this"  Javier informed as he sat down

Grace sat down across from him and chuckled as she angled her head towards the boat "how'd you get that?"

Javier perked up a bit and looked back "oh the boat?" he looked back to Grace and chuckled "I stole it"

Grace burst out into a small heap of laughter before she cleared her throat "well, no surprise there"

Javier looked down at the display and shifted his shoulders a bit "sorry I didn't any drinks, I tried to take some whiskey from camp but Person got on my ass about 'I've already taken enough supplies from camp' and all that"

Grace shrugged "it's alright, I accidentally drank half a bottle of wine at the party anyways"

Javier chuckled and leaned backwards to get comfortable "well, won't that be a fun story to tell around the campfire"

Grace rolled her eyes humorously "more like a repressed memory"

Javier and Grace both shared a quick laugh before they both ate their bowl of stew
