~~Jonathan's POV~~

I woke up before the alarm on my phone. It was about time... Finally, I am back to my old early bird self again. Although I love sleeping in with Lin, I couldn't help but think that something was wrong when I woke up late. I am just so used to seeing the sunrise drinking my coffee and just have some time for myself before the rush of the day starts.

However, the drinking coffee part had to be cancelled since I had a brunch scheduled for today. I am just so excited to see Lea again. She was right; it's been ages since we met, obviously not counting the numerous phone calls. She can be hard to deal with from time to time but once you know how to handle her (with a ton of chocolate), she is a kind person. And right now I think I need her to tell me off.

An hour later, I left the house. I was riding my bike, on the way to her place, when I saw a flower shop. I couldn't help but think about Lea. I just couldn't show up with nothing when she was helping me out.

I stopped and walked in. An older lady, around her late 50s, came up to me right away with a warm smile. 'Can I help you, dear?'

'Yes, please. I need a bouquet.' I said, stating the almost evident.

'Oh, but of course you do.' She said, turning around to her flowers. 'Such a charming boy. Your partner is surely lucky with you. I have a fresh supply of red roses. Those should be perfect, yes.' She chirped, picking up a container full of blood-red roses.

'Oh, no, no, no!' I stammered. 'Maybe some other time but this time I am meeting just with a friend. Strictly just a friend.' I told her. I was sure that my face competed with the colour of the roses.

She studied me for a few seconds then let out a chuckle. 'Oh, sorry, boy. Then we'll look for something else.'

There wasn't anyone else in the shop, so she dedicated all his attention to me. She kept asking about the occasion, the person it's for and what I wanted to tell her with the flowers. Between questions, she kept talking about how important flowers can be for telling without speaking. The lady was naturally so nice; I had no anxiety around her as I was answering.

In the end, the medium-sized bouquet contained pink carnations and white chrysanthemums. The pink ones mean gratitude and the white ones mean honesty and non-romantic love. At least that's what the lady said anyway. I had no idea about the meanings nor the flowers but also no reason not to believe her.

I paid and thanked her before leaving the shop. I got on the bike and rode extremely carefully, so the flowers were safe. I should've thought about this before I got the fowers but nevermind... Lea's place wasn't that far. I could manage.

Despite that, I was relieved when I arrived, and the flowers were still flawless. I locked my bike and entered the building. Lea told me the code years ago. I stopped in front of her door and knocked, hiding the bouquet behind my back with the other hand.

She opened the door a minute later. She flashed a smile as she realised it was me. 'Hey there!'

'Hi, Lea!' I smiled back. 'This is for you.' I brought the flowers forward.

'Jonathan!' She gasped. She took the bouquet and raised it to her face. 'They are beautiful! Thank you.'

'You're welcome.'

'Just a moment. I'll put these in a vase and we can go, okay?' She said, already disappearing in her apartment. I didn't mind, of course. I just leaned on the doorframe and waited patiently. We were in no hurry.

We went to a café close to her place, chose a table and sat down. Lea waited with asking until then but I knew how curious she was.

'So...' I started, not sure where I should start. 'You remember when we last talked?'
