Chapter 24: The Tracker

Start from the beginning

-Rosalie! - I stood up from the bed passing my hands through my hair in desperation- I have to go back, that's what Renee told him when she left and besides I only have permission for the weekend what if your family doesn't catch him by then? - I went up to her, putting both hands in her shoulders - Please-

She stood up and engulfed me in a hug, I cried in her chest.

-I won't take you home- she spoke slowly, I cried harder. Her embrace became tighter, she started to caress my hair -It's for your own protection- she continued, her voice a little strangled as if he herself wanted to cry - If something happened to you, I would never forgive myself-

I cried for a few more minutes, I was starting to calm down and I was starting to think clearer. I suddenly came up with an idea.

-Rosalie, what if I call Charlie? - I pulled away from her hug, she was still frowning not liking the idea so I explained myself further - I tell him that Bella called me and that she was freaking out, I'll tell him that the both of us are going to drive up to meet her and convince her to come back -

-Soff- she sighed, not liking my idea one bit- What if it takes longer than this weekend or than next week? -

-I will call him and tell him that I am trying my best to make things better- I continued, she bit her lip- That perhaps it could take a couple of weeks but that I am coming back-

-Honey...- she shook her head no, but I was red faced from crying and she took pity on me- I will run your idea by Alice and if she says it will work then...- she got interrupted by her cellphone ringing she answered and after a speed light conversation hung up - Well Alice says that it will calm Charlie down and keep him from sending an Amber alert on both of you so you can do it-

I hugged her relieved that at least I could give my dad a little peace in the mind.

-I heard that Charlie was a little more calm- Rosalie softly spoke as I hang up the phone and dropped on the bed face first, I felt her hand massaging my scalp, I was putty in her hands - I promise you that I will let anyone hurt you-

-What if something happens to Bella? - my voice was muffled by the bed sheets, Rosalie's hand dropped from my hair to my shoulder trying to turned me around, I complied. She had her head tilted to the side, she was just as distressed as I was.

-Nothing will happen- she said it with such conviction that I couldn't figure out if she was faking it or if she actually meant it -Bella is with Alice and Jasper and besides Edward will never let anything happen to her-

I didn't say anything, instead I let myself get lost in Rosalie's beauty. I was openly and obviously staring at her. Her beautiful tiny and symmetrical nose and those rosy full lips that looked like were smoother than silk. Her eyebrows framed her eyes perfectly, they were darker than her hair but not brown like mine, they were kind of a brownish golden, the same color as her eyelashes. That were so long that, at this angle with the lightbulb right above us, they shadowed her cheekbones.

She was the most beautiful person I have ever see; I couldn't believe that we were dating. I did not deserve her.

-Why don't you try sleeping? - she asked in a murmur, I could only hear it because we were both so close. I was lying flat in the bed and she was on her side with her head propped up in her hand, our bodies touching.

-I don't think I can- I replied as I continued to memorize every millimeter of her face. Not wanting to ever forget it. Rosalie purse her lips, then she did something I was not expecting. She laid down on top of me.
