Tears of joy ran down Feyre's face. Madja had left them alone after explaining that she was three months along and would start showing soon. She was also told not to fly whilst pregnant in case of dangers in the sky or if she fell. She was getting better after her weekly flying lesson with Az, but she would not risk it.

"It can't believe we're having a baby," Rhysand said breathlessly. He brushed a strand of hair out of Feyre's face and pressed a soft kiss to her temple.

"Me neither," she giggled. Gosh, they were having a child. Feyre was beyond happy - she was thrilled and majorly excited. This was something she had always wanted and couldn't think of a better person to be a father than Rhys.

"Shall we tell the others?" he asked. When she nodded, he sent a mental message to the Inner Circle requesting them to come to the room.

Only five minutes later, Cassian gave a quick salute as he walked through the door, plopping onto a chair and stretching out his wings. Mor laid on the bed with her hands behind her head, and Azriel being... well, Azriel - he just stood against the wall, arms at his side and eyes alert.

"What was wrong, Feyre?" Mor asked, "Is everything okay? You just winnowed out of the meeting and I was panicking the whole time an-"

The High Lady cut her off.

"I'm pregnant." There was silence. Complete and utter silence. But then the blonde sat up with a start, climbing off the bed and stumbling towards her. She grabbed Feyre in a crushing bear hug, shrieking with happiness.

Whilst Feyre was being suffocated by Mor, she could see Azriel and Cassian pat Rhysand on the back, the latter saying something which made the group howl with laughter. This was her family - the family that her child would grow up with. And she couldn't be more fortunate.

When Feyre was finally released, another person instantly scooped her up into an embrace.

"Congratulations, sweetheart," Cassian smirked, lifting Feyre off the floor and spinning her around. When he let go, he performed a little excited dance as Azriel wrapped his large arms around the High Lady as well. He was so much taller up close, with Feyre coming up to his mid chest. She snuggled into his body further, inhaling the scent of night chilled mist and cedar. Azriel gave some of the best hugs.

"I will protect your child with my life," he whispered, resting his chin on top of her head. Feyre had never been more overcome with emotion than at that moment.

It was the next day, and therefore time to get ready for the Calanmai festival. Rhysand was nervous that Tamlin would try and pull something, but Feyre assured him that she was well protected.

At that, they walked into the cave under the hill, their path lit only by torches that glowed with warm fire.

Rhys was wearing a navy blue button-up shirt with his favourite black blazer that was embroidered with silver swirls and moons. Feyre wore a simple charcoal coloured gown, made of the void material that the dressmaker in Velaris had invented. It was wrapped tightly to her skin, with a collarbone neckline and long sleeves. When it reached her stomach, the skirt flowed to the floor with a little train behind.

A crown of silver stars rest also upon her free-flowing hair; a perfect match to the studded diamonds in her ears. They were both night incarnate.

"Welcome," Tamlin spoke over the chatter, clinking a spoon against a champagne glass to gather everyone's attention. Members of the Spring Court - such as sentries, servants and other high fae - were stood around, dressed in brightly coloured suits and dresses, chatting merrily.
