hyein sat on the sofa with her legs folded together as she had her arms crossed in front of her chest. her face had a displeased expression as her thigh bounced repeatedly, a habit of hers when she's nervous or impatient - but in this case right now,
she was impatient waiting for chenle's arrival back at home. many thoughts ran through her head as she tried to think of what she should say when she'll face him later, it won't be a simple greeting because hyein knows she needs to take care of his drunken state
'thank god, his mother isn't home yet.. or maybe she knew?'
a tired sigh escaped her lips as the front door's bell rang at the same time. hyein immediately stood up and ran towards the door, as she was unlocking it - she could her grumbles from the other side and a few whining following it
hyein momentarily braces herself for what's going to happen before opening the door wide. her eyes rounded at the sight of mark holding a sleepy yet flushed face chenle with chenle's arm around mark's shoulder - supporting him to stand up
"sorry for the inconvenience, you can take care of him right?" hyein nods as mark passed the whining boy to her, hyein carefully placed chenle's arm around her shoulder with a few small sounds escaping her lips from supporting the male's body on her
since chenle was way out of his consent and had no control of his body, almost all of his weight was thrown over the girl and hyein being the not so strong yet not so weak girl, had some difficulty in supporting the male
"thank you for driving him, please get back home safely" mark passed hyein a sweet smile before waving his hands around, "i'm used to it so it's fine"
hyein's ears perked up at hearing his reply
'used to? so it's not the first time huh?..'
"well, i'm going now. nice to meet you hyein" hyein quickly broke out of her thoughts and nod her head towards the male before clamping chenle's mouth so his mumbles will be inaudible
"nice to meet you too mark" mark chuckled at the two teenagers in front of him and in that moment, a thought crossed his mind so he called the girl's name again before she could head back inside
"yes?" she put her hand back over chenle's mouth so their conversation wouldn't be interrupted. mark swiftly put his hands inside his pockets a light sigh escaped his lips before moving his head forward - gesturing at chenle
"chenle rarely drinks.. if he drinks then that means he's going through something so i hope you'll hear to what he has to say later. i'm sure he's too much of a chicken to say it when he's sober so might as well take a little advantage when he's drunk"
hyein tilted her head slightly as she didn't get what the older meant. mark chuckled before shaking his head, "just hear him out okay? see you soon hyein"
mark made his way to his car after briefly bidding goodbye to the girl he just met seconds ago. he went inside his car and started the engine, he was about to start driving until a his phone rang
hearing the familiar ringtone, instantly brought a smile to his face. his finger slid on the screen to accept the call before positioning his phone on his ear as his other hand was raised to brush his hair back
"and what do i owe the pleasure of your precious evening, lady ryu?"
"precious evening- lady ry- ugh you're weird as ever"
mark let out a heartful laugh as he imagine the person's face on the other line with her usual unamused expression
"but you love my weird self"
"not really but when are you coming over? are you still guarding the kids?"
"I'll be there in 5 minutes"
"5 min- jaemin's house is an hour from mine mark"
"i know you like things fast and you speed all the time but safety is a firs-"
"if you keep talking then I'm gonna arrive 2 hours later"
"..... be safe, I'm waiting"
mark shook his head at the girl as a smile was seen on his lips. his hand shifted the gears as his other hand gripped the steering wheel before replying with a lower voice than before,
"like i said, i'll be there in 5 minutes chaewon"
