Chapter 51 - Keefe and Sophie

Start from the beginning

The Neverseen were under attack.

Everyone in the room was quiet, waiting with baited breath. A small clatter was heard and I looked down. Everyone else's eyes noticed the same thing I did. A smoke bomb- no. A human smoke bomb. My eyes widened. If whoever was attacking was smart they would have laced it with sedatives.

Immediately I took a deep breath, trying to keep myself calm. I had always been better at holding my breath then the others at Exilium, and for once I found myself actually using the skill as the smoke bomb went off. The Neverseen looked around, confused as to wear the smoke came from. Slowly, one at a time they each collapsed. Still I held my breath, not letting myself succumb to the sedative. Not again.

A dozen goblins pushed the door open, storming in, Sandor at the head. I let out a cry of relief, and he rushed towards me, holding a human gas mask. Before anything else he put the mask on me and I took a deep breath. I looked around, finding Biana, Dex, Fitz and Keefe behind him. Immediately they all rushed towards me.

I threw my arms around Keefe, pulling him as close as I could with my diminishing strength. I sobbed into his shoulder, my tears were only caught in my mask. Before I knew it all of my friends were attacking me with hugs. Immediately Keefe knelt down taking out a handful of panakes petals.

"Here." He said, practically shoving the petals into my hand. I placed them in my mouth, working around the gas mask. Still, my body ached. "We've gotta get you back to Elwin."

"I want to help-"

"Foster, I know you do. But you cant help like this." Before I knew it, he light leaped me to Havenfeild, pulling Dex and Biana with us. Dex made quick work of the gadget making my powers unusable. Instant relief filled my bones. Still, I hate several more panakes petals, and placed many around my decayed wrists. Maybe an hour went by with Elwin working around me, checking on everything.

Everyone else went back to the battle, leaving me behind.

Anxiety to get back into the battle made me restless.

"I have to get back." I murmered, pushing past him.

"Miss Foster, you need to heal."

"Theres enough time for healing afterwords!" I practically shouted. I took a deep breath. "Please. We have to win this battle. I cant sit by while everyone else risks their lives. I have to help."

Elwin sighed. "Fine. But be careful."

I jumped up and rushed towards the cliffs to teleport, but stopped when Elwin called out to me.

"Miss Foster?"

I looked back at him.

"Win this for us, okay?"

I merely nodded. There was a lot more resting on this then our own lives. The entire world could be resting on our shoulders.

Keefe POV

Sophie was okay.

I had to repeat the line several times as we fought, arresting as many of the Neverseen as we could. It seemed we had gotten everyone, but I couldn't help but feel we missed something.

I heard thunder crack, and looked towards the sound. There Sophie was, bandages around her wrist, bruises on her face- yet beautiful as ever.

"What are you doing here, Foster?" I called, as soon as I got close enough.

"I'm here to fight."

I smirked, stepping closer. "I believe you missed all the action." I said, as her eyes followed the line of Neverseen, all of which were on there way to Exile.

"Really?" She frowned, as if she believed there was more. And she did, I could feel it from a mile away. Or maybe that was me. I couldn't help but feel there was so much more left.

(Time skip, One hour later)

We walked through the halls, the councilors in tow. I quickly found where the Neverseen had held me hostage. I kicked the door open, and several moans were heard from inside. The lights had shut off, making the room dark. But I knew exactly what lay inside.

People who the elven world had thought dead for years.

Blank stares.

I shuddered at the memory.

"Why how kind of you to join us?"

I recognized the voice easily.

Mother.

Sophie POV

I scowled at where Giselas voice had come from. Everything was going so perfect and she just had to ruin it. I knew this wasn't over with yet.

Wylie illuminated the room. Gisela stood at the other end of the room, a light leaping crystal in her hands. She held one of the hostages in her arms, like a human shield. She wore a wicked smile.

"Let me go, and the hostage lives."

"You wouldn't kill him, you sanity-"

She laughed, "Oh please. My sanity is long gone." Her eyes seemed to now have a crazed look in them, and her silver dagger was too close to the elves neck. Slowly, I gathered my anger, trying not the let myself use it quite yet. Not just my anger. Every emotion this women had caused me these past few year. Fear, anxiety, pain, sadness. I coiled each up.

"Mother, let him go." Keefe tried, taking a tentative step closer. Memories filled my mind and I struggled to keep hold of these emotions.

"Only if you let me leave." She snapped back. My anger only grew.

"We cant do that. In order to get the weed we have to get the root." Councilor Emery said, scowling at Gisela. Gisela simply laughed.

"Well it seems this weed is already long gone." She pushed the hostage forward and stepped into the light. She held up her crystal, but before she could do anything I let go.

The string holding my emotions back snapped, and my world turned black. I only heard Giselas screams, then felt Keefe grabbing my hand and sending cool breezes. Slowly I calmed down, blinking. I opened my eyes, finding Gisela unconscious on the ground.

I stared.

The only sign of life from her was her chest rising and falling. I collapsed, my knees giving way. Keefe caught me. Immediately, The councilors went forward to arrest her.

Oralie froze as she looked at one of the several beds. Her eyes widened, and she stared. And stared.

Keefe coyly smiled. I came over to look at what she was staring at.

Kenric.

---

One week later

I sighed contentedly when I felt Keefe's arms wrap around my shoulders from behind. He buried his head into my shoulder as I watched the councilors with Kenric. It had been a week. They were still trying to get Kenric to eat a good portion of food.

Seeing him and Oralie together made me giddy.

Oralie had claimed she would be leaving the council soon so she could live her life with him.

Everything had turned out perfect.

Me and Keefe were officially a thing, Dex and Biana stopped denying their ship. Oralie and KEnric were together again. We were all alive. At least, most of us. We still missed those of which weren't though. It could be hard sometimes.

But over all, we had won.

No longer would the Neverseen keep us from our happily ever after.

The end guys!!! Ahh, I am literally crying. This has been so much fun to write. Yes, this last chapter was confusing and weird, but I am so glad you guys have stuck with me through it all. I love you all so much, bye!
