"Wha-?" Peridot exclaimed at once, prancing towards the abandoned captain's chair. "It's on some kind of auto pilot mode. I've never seen something like it before." She breathed with amazement, scanning over the controls as she puzzled together the next step.

"Look for a hatch or something, it's probably easiest if I just fly us out. I can look for a weapon in case too." She commented to Peridot, who was still mooning over the ships ability to fly itself. She nodded and walked off behind her, scanning for any possible doors.

With that, Lapis got to looking. To her luck, she almost instantly spotted a golden forked tool with a blazing yellow ball in the center; a destabilizor. She reached forward and grabbed the base, lifting it from its lodge and twirling it in her hand as sparks fizzled in all directions. With a infuriated face, she aimed the spires down and stabbed it into the controls, watching as error warnings invaded the screens.

Then, there was a shrill scream.

Not missing a beat, Lapis wrenched the weapon free and spun around, holding out the charged destabilizor with both hands and snarling. With a gasp of terror, Lapis stared blankly ahead, her glassy blue eyes no longer filled with rage.

Before her stood a towering quartz soldier, the one that had passed them in the hallway just moments earlier, holding a squirming gem. Their hood was now draped over their vacant eyes, but she could still see their sickly sweet smile as she held the breaking point directly to Peridot's gem.

Stunned and at loss of words, Lapis readied her fighting stance again, but was stopped by a taunting voice.

"Don't move." The anonymous Amethyst growled, her hood slipping off as she raised her head, revealing the enemies face at last. She had captivating, violet eyes with frizzled light hair, completed with a set of marbles pink horns from post corruption on her head and shoulders.

Lapis watched with dread as the Amethyst held Peridot taught, one large arm wrapped around her waist. Peridot had both of her small, trembling hands planted on the breaking point's sides, her face furrowed with effort as she shakily tried to shove the killing weapon away.

"Don't!-" Lapis shrieked, reaching a bare hand and taking a step towards the two, but was cut off with a sinister threat.

"I'll shatter her!" The purple gem bellowed and pressed the fatal weapon's tip closer to Peridot's gem, the Amethyst's smile widening as the little gem helplessly yelped, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked pleadingly at Lapis.

The descending ship gave a lurch as it lost function, causing all three to stumble. There wasn't much time before the ship would crashed.

Still clutching the destabilizer with a deathly grip, Lapis clenched her fists and narrowed her eyes. "Your ship is going to crash. Let her go, you have more important things to worry about." She sneered, resisting the urge to lunge forward and seize the weapon, but it was far too risky.

Peridot shook her head 'no', kicking madly as she begged for Lapis to flee without her. The ship gave another lurch, beginning to tremble as it plummeted from the sky.

I'm not going anywhere, she gazed back into her eyes, hoping her message was clear through the direct contact. Suddenly, the destabilizor shifted in her grip, wriggling in her grasp as she tried to keep a firm hold on it. Confused, she looked up and at Peridot.

She was staring intently on the golden rod in Lapis' hand with focused piercing green eyes, her hand slightly lifted as she secretly reached for the tool. With a strike of realization, Lapis knew her intentions.

She dropped the distabilizor.

It landed with a tink on the ground, flickering a few times as the energy ebbed.

She looked back up at Peridot with a distraught face, but the gem hadn't given up. The weapon fled from the floor and across the room; directly into the captor's shoulder.

With no time to react to the sudden attack, the weapon impaled her form, and in an instant, she was engulfed in bright yellow marks. She howled something unintelligible before there was a loud bam, followed by a rush of thick cloud as it spread rapidly across the room.

The breaking point dropped to the floor as well, now harmless with no user. The smoke cleared and she saw Peridot struggling to her feet, shaken but determined as she coughed away the fumes, intently looking at the water gem. The lights began flashing, and the capsule began to shiver uncontrollably once more as it entered the Earth's atmosphere, nearly causing the blue gem to lose her footing.

There's no time to get out!

Lapis began charging towards the struggling small gem, slipping as she too had trouble with the turbulence. "Peri!" Lapis cried with warning, tackling the green gem as they tumbled head over heels, the lights blinking out completely as the ship finally landed with a burning explosion.

Then it was dark.
