"i like the way you think"

"It was great to have you," I told Penny as we embraced in a short hug. "I hope to be seeing more of you." I winked at Penny and watched as her cheeks heated up.

"That'd be very nice," she hinted, glancing up at Wesley who was—like always—oblivious. "It was nice to meet you, Calum."

"You too, Penny," Calum said with a smile. "And you, Wesley."

"Sorry for crashing the party, but thanks for being a good sport," Wesley told Calum with a smile. "And it's always great to see you, Sonny." Wesley leaned over and kissed the top of my head. "I'll keep you updated about that interview—and I hope to see you soon."

"Okay. Love you, Wes."

"Love you, too." I hugged Wesley and then said my goodbyes to both Penny and Wesley before they walked out, leaving Calum and I alone.

"And then there were two," Calum said after hearing my front door close. I smiled to myself before glancing at Calum to see him smiling as well. "You're sure you want me to stay over?"

"Only if you want to," I told him with a small shrug as I felt myself become nervous. He walked up to me and placed his hands on my hips, causing a wave of butterflies to swarm my stomach. He leaned down and pecked my lips gently, which I reciprocated as my lips curled into a smile.

"Sleepover on the third date? I can't say I've done it before, but I'm not complaining." I laughed quietly as Calum pulled away to talk and I watched as he continued to grin widely.

"We could watch a movie or something if you'd like—instead of going straight to bed. But it's up to you. If you're tired—"

"A movie sounds nice," Calum said, bringing an end to my rambling which caused me to chuckle. "Out here? Or in there?"

"Which would you prefer?" I asked Calum which caused him to laugh for a reason I wasn't sure of.

"How about we watch in bed so that we don't accidentally fall asleep out here or have to trudge our way to bed later?"

"I like the way you think." I grabbed Calum's hand and started to lead him out of the living room, turning the light off on our way out. We walked through my apartment to my bedroom and I told Calum to make himself comfortable while I got things ready. I turned on my tv and brought up Netflix before grabbing some clothes to change into and leaving my room to go to the bathroom.

I genuinely hadn't had a guy over casually in half a decade—I still couldn't believe I had been so quick to suggest he stay the night. I tried not to let my worrisome thoughts consume me and instead focused on changing into shorts and an oversized sweatshirt before walking back into my room.

"I hope it's okay that I keep my room so cold—" As I walked back into the room, I was faced with Calum shimmying out of his jeans, which caught me off guard. I laughed off my surprise and continued about my business.

"Uh—yeah, it's fine," Calum told me, seeming confused by my small pause. "What kind of movies do you like?" Calum asked as he got into my bed. Before fully getting under the covers, however, he stopped and looked over at me perplexed. "Is this side okay?"

I laughed as I realized he wasn't sure what side to sleep on, but I nodded: he had picked correctly.

"This is my side of choice," Calum said as he started to get comfortable.

"Well, would you look at us," I joked which caused Calum to sprout a dopey smile.

"So... favorite kind of movie?"

"Oh... anything," I said with a shrug as I closed my closet door after throwing the clothes I had previously been wearing into my hamper.

"You're not very decisive," Calum observed which caused my cheeks to burn. "Which is fine... I'm just coming to terms with it."
